Awww love! :)
| Guest chapter 1 . 4/6/2013
i'm reading some of your other things today. i really like the Never Been Kissed scene in particular. Kurt's wardrobe change between Teenage Dream and the coffee scene was never explained. I do like the idea of him sneaking back to check out the school some more and basically getting busted for it-but in a good way. It makes sense that he would return to the first place outside of his home where he felt accepted.

This is the first of your fics that I recall with Kurt at that tender age of fourteen. It's interesting to read him so young, because we're accustomed to seeing him on screen as a progressively snarkier sixteen-year-old onward. It was such a good scene to include, though, because it showed a vulnerable period of his life that we rarely see. The time when you can almost see him changing, from someone that wants to be comforted to someone that wants to be entirely self-sufficient. It's heartbreaking because it should never have needed to occur, and it caused so many problems for Kurt later on (see: the Karofsky harassment during his sophomore and junior years). If anything, he became more closed off the worse the violence became. Seeing the transition from bright-eyed freshman to the reserved Kurt Hummel that we're more used to encountering was both interesting and heartwrenching. Poor bb.
I loved the scenes that you used for this five-and-one. The Karofsky harassment was appropriate and I'm not surprised that the slushy and bullying incidents worked their way in as well. They're very familiar torments for Kurt at this point, and they're the perfect examples for a piece like this. Not to mention the jock feeling him up in the hallway to intimidate him. Poor Kurt. That would be awful, especially since it would be demeaning and he wouldn't want to take it before the principal (who, knowing Glee, probably wouldn't have done much for him, anyway). To see the reasoning behind that little outburst in Britney/Brittany was refreshing; it made sense, even though Glee left Kurt's outburst as a more spontaneous act with seemingly no cause.
And the last one. I'll say it again: I adore the way that you write Blaine. Even in these early stages, when there are still so many things that aren't well known about him. (Although truthfully, we don't know much more about him even now, either.) He's fleshed out and thoughtful and interesting, but he retains that sweetness and compassion and maturity that made him stand out and be likable from the start. I love how he pulled Kurt into everything and did his best to get him to smile. Precious bbs.

Well this is awkward... I was re reading this (cause I love all of your writing) and I noticed that during the bit with Wes, David, Blaine, and Kurt from NBK that you had Wes saying David's line and vice versa... I just thought you might like to know :)

BLAINE HAS ARRIVED! That can only mean good things :)

I LOVE how this was written! I've always wondered what happened to Kurt to make him that angry, though it took me a LONG time before I realized he was wearing a kilt to school... XP I love the scene you had for the Britney episode, it really would explain everything! And it also explains why Kurt never wants to "tone it down" with his clothing. Thanks for this, it explains so much that I really wish was in the show!

Ah yes. Back to the magical days where everyyone could imagine Blaine singing 'You need someone Older and Wiser' from Sound of Music to Kurt. OHGOD. I literally just thought of that. That would have been so awesome! I just... aahvfkvk. Stoopid junior Blainers. Stoopid, STOOPID RIB. And now I have Older and Wiser stuck in my head. This is a "Why didn't this ACTUALLY happen?" moment fershure.

It makes me mad that no one seems to notice how bad Kurt has it until it's too late! Great portrayal from his pov, very well written

That was simultaneously heart-breaking and adorable and I loved it. The Britney/Brittany one gave me chills... so creepy :( That guy was awful... So... icky. That guy was really really disturbing, and I hate that phrase "You're asking for it." *shudders*
The Blaine part was done fabulously. I thought the POV change really worked for it.

I'm not usually the hugest fan of the five in one format, but I think that you have done really nice things with this one here. And since there are parts I shall list and gush about them all.
1.) This little but just made me so very sad. The range of emotions that Kurt goes through thanks to his first dumpster dive is just heartbreaking. And his reaction is just so very Kurt.
2.) To me the best thing about this part is that you tie Karofsky into the reason that Kurt quit football. With the current cannon storyline we can look back at dave's early reactions through his sexuality and it makes sense that he would have problems with Kurt invading his santuary. Not to mention that I think that this little bit would naturally lead to Kurt comming out to his dad that same night.
3.) I always like it when you include Rachel in your stories because your rachel is so cannon. This reaction is so her. And on top of that you include the jock reaction to Kurt playing it straight. I know that there is no way that particular story line could have been included in the show, but I love that you looked at it here.
4.) The saddest part of this is that even in comming to Kurt's rescue, the club doesn't really see him. They see him cornered by the two
