third the way through but they should be able to explore much quicker from Abydos, like 7 new planets a week or even 15, 20, 30. Abydos DHD accounts for Doppler effect just fine. Just need to calculate for earth to dial, and eventually carter should make that quicker either with crystal computing or copying code (locations, coordinates) from DHD for addresses all at once.

Great story, I really love the thought that had been out into this for how it could have played out if things were don't differently; logic and thought instead of plot and drama. Dad to see the slow update schedule, but the quality that this story has for the storyline and writing is well worth it. Please keep up the amazing work!

I was not expecting an update to this story. It's really great to see it again. This story/TL always made me happy to see a Stargate taken more seriously/realistically and I actually had to re-read the entire story because it had been so long. Hopefully it's not years before the next update.

Throwing in Jack Ryan is rather amusing and unexpected. I can't wait to see how things continue to play out.

realy a great story a shame it took 11 years to get to 100k words. i have always ignore storys from this author do to slow updates but i have had this story recommend by a few friend i have to read this as it is exactly what i/m looking for and they where right i just hope it wont take another 11 year for 200k words. my advice focus on 1 or 2 stories and you will get a lot more readers

Yay, so glad to see a new chapter of this work. There just aren't enough realism-reinterpretations of Stargate out there, able to creatively adapt the story's narratives and themes to realistic methodology and approaches.

Common sense doesn't make for good plot twists on television I guess, nor does an episodic format and time restrictions lend itself to more indepth and absorbing story-telling.

I see that the existence of the ATA gene is being teased at here already, which is great. One of the complicating things about televisions shows - and even book series - where the writers/authors haven't built the universe in advance but merely kludge on extra parts, even ret-conning them into existence, introduces moments of 'fridge logic' on re-runs... if it were true that X existed all along, why then did we never see Y before season/volume whatever?

I sincerely hope another installment comes soon and if there is anyway to help that happen let me know. I have some ideas, but I'm not going to try to shove them down your throat in a review, if you'd like some suggestions for repurposing/redeploying certain characters, ideas for mission discoveries or possible tactics/strategies Earth could pursue then let me know.

This does make an interesting time capsule, when Russia was the main problem on the world stage for the US to deal with, not China.
I still want to see the development of the Prometheus and Daedalus come into the public eye!
The world looking on as a new wave of ships of the line head off into space.
More than that, how the world at large reacts to a hostile enemy faction.
Do we get a NATO fleet of Promethei flying beside a block of Russian space Hulks?
Or does this outside threat drive people together?

Only one way to find out!
