I like the analogy.
Paris is really something. Imagine? - the City of Lights, and beneath all that are layers upon layers of deathly tunnels, an accumulation of history which, as we all know, comes with much death. The world of today is built on those bones. It is built on what is now obscure.
And nations are like that. I like to think that underneath all the fey personalities each nation has a bloody, dark side. France? - God, let them keep seeing him as weak and whiny; we all know what he has been capable of.
So yeah, you can tell, your bit really got me thinking xD

I always had the suspicion that Francis was a lot more complex than he seems, and I've always been inclined to interpret him as much more realistic and violent than he acts in the show. But the way you portrayed him here... Wow. Much darker than I've ever imagined. Great job!
