again, another great piece of imagery of knowing that a sacrifice has made a difference in the midst of tragedy. always gotta love me a glorfindel bit!

Poor Ecthelion! I like the detailed comparisons of of light/dark, hot/cool, etc. A tragic end and sacrifice.

Makes me want to get moving again on my Eternal companion story on Ecthelion - been too long!

Glad to see this story published here - I like it as much as I did when you first posted it on HoF... Ecthelion and Glorfindel always were amongst my favourite characters, and their fates are described beautifully here, with the glory and the grief that suit them. These two drabbles are like images of battle flashing in my eyes, like a glimpse of a time long past that intrudes upon our quiet existence and reminds us that peace is gained through sacrifice.
