Reviews for His Greatest Wish |

![]() ![]() ![]() This is a wonderful story that I binge-read for the past two to three days! I love how naturally this all comes together, and I love how Severus and Lily’s relationship isn’t forced (like I’ve seen in other fics). It’s an amazing redemption for our favorite Potions Master and longtime spy, Severus Snape. I don’t like James too much either, but maybe he deserved a little better. I don’t think James would go so far as to attempt to rape Lily (in the books, he changed his behavior to show Lily his love). I think he should’ve, at least, redeemed himself a little bit. I DO like how you capture the obsession he has, though. It’s naturally done, and it a different kind of James Potter that I never expected to see. I really like the improvements you made to the remaining three Marauders. Peter isn’t the coward that he is in the books, Sirius isn’t as mean as he was to Snape, and Lupin remains his pure, furry self. To be honest, Lupin is my favorite Marauder. It’s also interesting to see Snape as a Gryffindor instead of a Slytherin, and it’s cool how he manages to save two fellow classmates (Peter and Regulus) from becoming Death Eaters. I love the happy ending even though I was hoping for an epilogue similar to the one in the Deathly Hallows (Sev and Lily seeing off their children at Platform 9 3/4). It would’ve been sweet to see, even though this one gives us more of a closure with the fate of the rest of the Circle of Seven. Speaking of the Circle of Seven, brilliant idea! It’s interesting to see how Severus got so many more friends and how he and James, essentially, switched roles. It’s also interesting to see how he did the same thing to Peter as he did to Snape in the other timeline. I love how the Circle of Seven (which, I believe, becomes more like the Circle of Ten) seamlessly bonds with one another and helps each other through their ups and downs. Thank you for putting five years of hard work into this story! It’s an amazingly natural redemption for Snape, and it makes me feel lighter when I think about the fact that Snape is even capable of a redemption (he’s my fav character!). I encourage you to keep up the good work that you produce for this wonderful community. Cheers! |
![]() ![]() I was thinking what about Harry? But then I thought Harry will probably still be born but as a snape |
![]() ![]() ![]() Is it me or does Eileen make the Weasleys sound like they're Zerg from StarCraft? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love this so far! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is probably one of the best Severus Snape stories I have ever read. Nothing rushed, Sev wasn't abusing his knowledge too much (like in most fics where the mc would end up an 11-year-old merlin after an time travel) |
![]() ![]() ![]() love this |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm crying, and I love it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() One year! :You have got to be kidding! |
![]() ![]() Thanks for your explanation for the constant James bashing. Ive been feeling sorry for him from the beginning of this story as he was left out of the camaraderie of the dorm and had to make friends with older students, albeit to feed his need for pranks, and you haven't included any bullying in this story. In THIS story he's just full of himself - i guess he's mclaggan! Ah, now i feel your dislike for even this version. i admit the canon 'he grew up and changed his ways' didn't really convince me and i always wondered if a love potion was involved in the potter marriage. |
![]() ![]() Well, i think i like your lily quite a lot now. |
![]() ![]() I'm sorry, but hitting a boy for persevering in asking you out is SHOCKING. She might not return his interest, but the james of this story is not the bully he was in canon, just a bit full of himself - he's thirteen! - so determined but polite refusal is the only appropriate response. Cant say i like your lily much, she's so whiny and demanding. Canon lily was supposed to be brilliant, fierce but KIND. Haven't seen much kindness in this one. And i think the circle's hostility is a bit over the top and would be appropriate if they thought he was a danger to her, which i don't think he is. |
![]() ![]() now lily is becoming a pain in the neck with all her questions and accusations (like some portrayals of Hermione). |
![]() ![]() I'm not sure why you've chosen to paint lily as such a limp noodle and severus, the careful, controlled spy, as unable to stop sharing information he should not have. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Splendid epilogue, too. Again, thank you. |
