Reviews for His Greatest Wish |

![]() ![]() ![]() This is painful, to see Lily so withdrawn and hurt. Can James only be tried anger he wakes up? If so, that may never happen. Although, that will hopefully not be the case. Peter should go into Magucal law. Still, I'm surprised he was a consultant. Good or not, he's still a student. Well, that's sometjing positive. How many students of Hogwarts will view Severus in a different light? They knew he was talented, though maybe not to that extent. I thought Severus would make Head Boy. I suppose Dumbledore has his reasons. Trying not to show favoritism? Or does he not want to take Severus away from Lily longer than necessary? |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was horrible. I expected something bad to happen concerning Potter, but not that. Of course, that warning at the beginning GeV some clues. It did little to prepare someone for reading it and the aftermath. By God. Poor Lily. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Poetic Justuce. I like Bagnold. She seems to actually be competent, which can't be said for all of the Ministers. James is surprisingly skilled, although Mayvr that shouldn't be so surprising. If the Auror career doesn't pan out, he might want to consider being a wardsmith. Is the Maggie liaison detective inspector a Holmes, by any chance? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was right to be worried. Potter is being a self-centered teenager here. Despite knowing that this could ruin Remus' life, he told Imbidge anyway. I would love to hear what his father thinks about all of this. Goodbye, Aurors, James Potter. It's odd, actually. Canon says James wasn't a bad student, although there may have been some bias there. Still, he managed to survive defying Voldemort three times. Why is he such a bad student, in this universe? Remus may have been a good influence, but how can there be that drastic of a change without him? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Compared to previous chapters, this one seems so upbeat and hopeful. Finally, everyone (or almost everyone) is moving on and planning for the future. James is still a problem, however easily the group deals with him. The werewolves still have to worry, but there are some plans in place for the passing of the restriction laws. Still, with 9(?) more chapters to go, I find myself a bit worried. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was unexpected. I hope James only did that out of reflex. Still, that was a bit uncalled for. I suppose we have gender roles to also consider. If Lily was replaced with a male student, while not accepted, it would not be so odd to see Janes hit back. Still, male or female, he shouldn't have done that. |
![]() ![]() ![]() So, is Renly related to the famous Holmes? His nephew's name is Mycroft, after all. Or is there no connection and his brother just wanted to be punny? It is intereting to see the line about "the fact that you exist" line used in such a different context. Fitting enough, although it has some negative memories attached. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think this may have been about where I read up to, last time I read this. Possibly. I read what was published until about a year and a half ago. I don't remember much of what might happen next. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The Lexicon says Tonks attended from 1984 to 1991. That means she was a first year during the 1984-1985 school year and a seventh year during the 1990-1991 year. Harry started in 1991 and was supposed to leave in 1998. That means he was a first year in the 1991-1992 term, one after Tonks had left. He never attended school during the 1997-1998 term for obvious reasons. Also, I remembered something. Why hasn't Slughorn recruited any of the Circle for the Slug Club, particularly Severus? It has been around since at least Riddle Era 1938-1945. It was revived when Slughorn resumed teaching at the school in 1996. Slughorn seemed to favor older students, as the were more likely to have shown talent and behave themselves at his high society parties. However, it would not have been unthinkable for him to recruit younger students who already showed great promise. Now that the Circle is older, I am surprised Slughorn has not extended an invitation. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ah. That is who he next told. When I stopped reading this, I think he had yet to tell the rest of the Circle. However, that may have been written, at this point. I expect him to do so in or after seventh year, unless a circumstance arises where it is necessary to do so before then. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's proper to wait before marriage, but how offend that actually practiced? I suppose this is the 1970s, so sex before wedlock wasn't as common. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Question time! I bet that the family memebers are all curious. How bug is the Order, by the way? I always thought there might be about twenty or thirty immediate memebers and at least 100 contacts. How does Quidittch Cups work? There are only four teams. I thought they only played each other team once and did a tally with the total points. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I rmemwbered what I was forgetting. So, how do Quidittch players develop muscles? They play on a broom, not much physical activity required. Beaters, I could see developing a strong upper body, if they want to hit bludger a well. Keepers might develop fast reaction time and chasers good coordination. However, unless captains make the team run laps around the Quidditch Pitch or some such thing, I doubt it. Also, why is Keeper spot the only vacancy? The Captain and Keeper from the previous year graduated. However, Hames was a Chaser and had been removed from the team. I thought that Sirius had been made Seeker in the previous year (or before). Who replaced James? Also, why had he been removed? Harassment of Lily and cursing Sirius? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thoughts. I'm trying to remember what I wanted to say but can't quite manage all of it. I'll probably remember later. First, Perunia and a magical? How interesting. I've seen it before, actually. Second, the ages. You're just loving up the dates. However, it was somewhat important. Charlie and Tonks left the year before Harry got to Hogwarts. Not important about Tonks, so much. However, Charlie leaving my Gryffindor desperate for a new Seeker. That's also why Norbert had to be delivered as he was. Third, I support the choices. You don't want to make two lovers Prefects. While arguably some of the most responsible students of their year, they're still teenagers. They could be prone to romantic distractions. Also, Severus is probably better utilized as a Prefect than a Captain, although he could easily be both. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well. That certainly had an impact. I realized you had to choose someone important enough to affect the story without killing the main characters. I wasn't expecting it to be him, however. Petunia must feel horrible. Also, I have the feeling that she and Verbon won't be staying together. Hooray for silver lining? Intersting. The Taboo didn't work in Hogwarts. However, people had felt uneasy. Does Regulus have Magucal premonition powers or just regular intuition? Is Severus ever going to tell his norther or Lily's family? If he marries Lily, it would only be proper that they knew. As for his mother, I'm not entirely surprised she hasn't suspected something. Well, maybe she has, but it's not the correct something. |
