![]() ![]() ![]() Really amazing story, it just keeps getting better! Can't wait for more |
![]() ![]() ![]() Man oh man, I finally got around to rereading this entire story from start to finish for the first time in a long time. It took a while, but no regrets, I love this story and going through it again just reaffirmed that. The changes you made feel big, yet not out of the realm of possibility, with believable character arcs, thrilling drama, fantastic action and one of the best romance set-ups I've read. I love how you made characters strong, but not overpowered enough to make things easy. The way characters struggle not just physically but mentally, the way they second guess themselves and express trauma in a believable way(for the most part). I especially like how the protagonists don't always 100% win, such as Naruto being unable to get back the Shodai's Necklace, Ino and Shikamaru being unable to stop Deidara from blowing up the Fire Daimyo's guards or even way back in the Chunin Exams, where Gaara transformed into Shukaku after Team 10 won, showing it wasn't a complete victory. There's consequences for actions taken, important characters don't always make it away unscathed or even alive. I love it when stories aren't revolving around perfect characters or a perfect world, and this world you've crafted is definitely chaotic- in the best way possible. I know I'm just one of thousands of reviewers who have probably said something similar to this, but I'll say it regardless: Thank you for creating this amazing story, and I'm looking forward to the next update. Keep up the great work! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank good you timeskipped. At least you know the cons of breaking canon in such a mid way. But normally people are interested in what happened during an anime time skip you know? It’s why one pieces was so popular. But it’s funny how I can’t seem to care about what happened in this one, and I doubt I’m alone. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I took a break from this and tried to see if maybe I could get back into it. Yeah no. This guardian “arc” is so fucking boring and idgaf about any of the characters. Even when you divert from canon it’s still fucking mid. Absolute skimfest. This is what happens when writers are directionless, because even when shit happens to the characters they don’t develop. I can’t even remember half of what happened but I’m 500k words in. Holy forgettable. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Why censor "fucking"? |
![]() ![]() ![]() The Naruto, Itachi and Kimimaro 3-way was absolutely glorious. Extremely well done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() 36-40 should be people like Might Guy, Minato, Tobirama, Madara, Hashirama, etc. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Goddamn Kyubi is savage asf. I wish it doesn't turn all soft and mushy like in canon. |
![]() ![]() ![]() As much as I love this story, I can't help but feel as though Naruto acts like he's indestructible too often. Sure, it's fanfiction, and the writers like to take a break from the character's more annoying flaws, but I feel like too much has been taken away here. Part of what made Naruto relatable as a character is that at the beginning of the series, he was a total wannabe Ninja with seemingly nobody on his side, a demon in his gut that wants to eat his soul, and an impossible dream that he will probably die trying to obtain. He had flaws. He froze in fear the first time he faced combat against a real threat. He can't take a hint from his crush, he's a kid with a learning disability, probably ADHD. He's also prone to childish behavior, that pisses people off. His flaws also have a side-effect of elevating the rest of the Konoha 11 by showing how he has to grow in order to earn the respect of his peers. In this story though? His flaws are brushed aside, and it is clear from the beginning that he's gonna be the best ninja in his village. I dunno, I guess that his potential being realized early is kinda the point of the story, but it does remove some narrative stakes. I guess that I think that it'd be fun to have Naruto fight something that genuinely shakes him and humanizes him. Love Kenchi's ideas for Naruto's new Jutsu, though. that is primo shit right there. Also a big fan of the Chunin exams in this |
![]() ![]() ![]() Gonna be honest though, I'm not seeing how Naruto gets past Gaara or Fu without Kurama's help. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bro said he ain’t rehashing canon but the majority of the characters are the exact same. And nothing happens for long periods of time. As I am almost halfway through the story, that’s a perfectly good amount to judge this fic by. And my verdict is: mid. Humor? Mid. Plot? Mid. Character development? Mid. Worldbuilding? Less than mid. It’s all decent, but not great. I forget what happened a few hours after finishing a reading session of this fic. I know children’s movies more memorable. Well at least it wasn’t total garbage, this is the perfect fic for naruto fans with no taste or reading comprehension. |
![]() ![]() ![]() AINTNOWAY Lee would kick a kid like that, his fight knowledge is too good to think it’s anything but a spar. I know it was to make the loss less and make him seem less op if he beat her, but you should’ve just had him win or lose, don’t change a character to make something happen. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Is Iruka's jutsu a canon thing? It actually sounds canon |
