This looks interesting, I don't think that I've seen this type of divergence before. Also, about the new jutsu,I think that after he learns the rasengan (better control) or something it would be feasable that he could use it like a sort of kaiten bomb, put enough in, focus the length, and boom.

So far there isn't much of a difference at all from what I can tell, just the exploitation of a tactic skill, a new jutsu, and not knowing he's a jinchuuriki, but like you said, butterfly effect will take care of it I suppose. Also, any clue who you'll pair him up with, since your other stories have been either oc or kyuubi, but SoF is AU modern, so that doesn't count. I guess you may not any ideas this early, but if you do have a pairing in the fix, can we by get hinata's or sakura, simply because they're done to death. A less common but not crack pairing like ino or temari would be a lot better in my opinion.

Hmmm... not too much movement yet but I can see where things will get interesting. The trend with your stories is also that it takes a few chapters to get moving but once they are they are one hell of a ride.

Oh, and one quick thing. When Mizuki slashed at Iruka, it would have nearly severed his TRACHEA ie. wind pipe. The esophagus sits behind that so he would have already have had to slit his throat from ear to ear before getting that far.

Rome wasn't built in one day. I do hope however that Naruto will be less stupid, as Canon Naruto has an IQ slightly better than an oyster.

The concept is pretty interesting though, since most Naruto fics use the whole Kyubi-is-teaching-Naruto or Kyubi-is-lending-LOTS-of-power-to Naruto!plot device.

It will be nice to know how Naruto will get strong without the knowledge of the Kyubi in his belly.

my only concern is you're putting too many stories out there with no ending in sight for any of them. other than that, great start to a great story.

And in an ironic twist, what do you think about writing a story where Naruto died at birth along with Kushina. and (well with artistic licence ofcourse) LEE got the Kyuubi (cos he would be born that day.). Man that'd be fascinating to see! wonder if Lee would manage to have that many friends from enemies as Naruto.

That was a good explanation for why Naruto wears orange. I think it's the first time someone came up with something like that.

Other then that, It'll be nice to see a Naruto that uses his head for once, and not just for headbutting.

I think Iruka and Naruto are underestimating his skills. Since Naruto did create the sexy technique that shows he has advanced skill with the transformation technique. He would be good at infiltration missions with it.

He could always use the replacement technique with his shadow clones to save himself from a lethal hit.

Even if Naruto learned how to use the basic clone technique he could use them with his shadow clones to disorient his opponents.

Okay, I admit it, I got those ideas from Chunin Exam Day. For all it's faults, Perfect Lionheart did demonstrate how good Naruto could be with just the basics to enhance his shadow clone technique.

Are you going to keep the teams the same? Given Naruto's new locating technique, his infiltration skills and scouting potential with the shadow clone technique, he would fit better with Ino and Shikamaru then Choji, who would make team seven a Nin/Tai/Genjutsu trio.

I would pay if I had to to read your stuff... hell, do you know whenever I'm on fanfiction how many times I check to see if you updated 'Shinobi of the High Seas'? Or how many times I read it? The fact of the matter is your stories rock, and i'm sure many of your fans would agree if not all of them.

Anyway this story shows promise, I can see Naruto using that technique better with his high chakra reserves.
