oh well never mind then. I would really appreciate it if people stopped using this site as free advertising. half the p&p stories on here are appallingly written and most of the rest are samples only. it's insulting to the other writers on this site. I don't normally write unpleasant reviewsindeed, the beginning of this story was interestingbut I'm really starting to lose my rag at this attitude of posting glorified adverts. take out an ad in the paper. and no, I've never bought anyone's story that has been advertised here, nor will I. This site is for people who post their stories because they wish to share them with others, not because they are trying to earn money from them.

This is the story of Elisabeth meeting Darcy and their misunderstandings, pride, misconceptions. The events are different than in canon but you will find the famous scenes or phrases we all like. But there is so much more to the story than just that. And quite some good humour too!

I am currently reading this in kindle... it is a long story (very nice!), with a lot happening, keeping (so far) to characters in canon but te-juggling the course of events and traditional well-known lines from P&P.
I just finished chapter 33 and I loved the quiproquo in Elisabeth and the Cononel’s dance.

I'm reading now Constant as the Sun and I like it a lot. But I wish I could read the first story. It' a bit anfair to readers in other countries who can't buy it from amazon. Pity.

I am reading the version of Constant as the Sun on here and am hoping it will go 20 chapters and be published and I am desperate to know what happens. In any case. I did think Mr. Bennet was unfair to Lizzy and Darcy when the book did not end with a wedding and maybe a honeymoon for them except it was very long. I do hope Constant as the Sun will end that way. There's a lot of new problems there, though Mr. Bennet's reasons for the conditional betrothal seemed more like excuses to avoid losing his favorite daughter. In any case, I always love it when Mary is given a chance for happiness as in this book. I have always liked her and thought that Jane Austen did not deal with her fairly and dismissed her. She did not even have Mr. Collins considering her, though it is good that she will have a much better husband than him in this book and Constant as the Sun. I think in Jane Austen's notes she intended Mary to only eventually marry a clerk in her Uncle Philips' law firm which was not regarded as highly in England at the time as it might be here in the USA. This book was exciting. Miss Bingley, Mr. Collins, Lady Catherine, and Mr. Wickham are very bad, though Mr. Wickham seems to be disposed of quickly. The others can pop up again. I have a problem with Lizzy having to feel okay with the Ton doings in London because I have personally found those doings superficial and something of a pain. At least, Lizzy enters them as an engaged woman instead of single, but all of the rules of the time left her open to other men (many of them rakes) able to dance with her and limitations. Will everyone still be after Darcy. Of course, there is the challenge of Darcy's Aunt and Uncle, the Countess and Earl and Col. Fitzwilliam's older brother. The writing is very good and well edited. The one thread pulled helped Lizzy avoid hearing that insulting comment, so that it was possible, even with Darcy haughty, for less pride and prejudice and quicker liking for one another. Also Bingley and Jane married faster, but Miss Bingley is a real potential problem since she has mental stability issues. Note: I read this in a final purchased version rather than the draft on here. I keep hoping and hoping to see the final version of Constant as the Sun which implies dependability of someone like Darcy and/or Elizabeth, I hope, I hope. I do recommend this book and as much as the follow-up as possible. If there is a way to read past Chapter 20 in Constant as the Sun I would appreciate knowing, though it is more difficult to read via a browser than through the Kindle application.

Hi! I read the first chapter here, and it seemed so promising, I bought the book from Amazon... I'm halfway through it, and I must say it is absolutely amazing! :-D I recently rediscovered my love for Pride and Prejudice, and your book just makes me happy :-D Absolutely loving it!
