Incredibly beautiful. Breathtaking.
This is what the Wilson/House/Cuddy relationship could be like.
"He forgave me – for signing it."
I'm speechless. I would need a thesaurus to comment.
"Speaking to the same hidden shadow that he'd smiled at before."
How does he know House is there, looking and listening? And yet you make us feel that he knows.
And the final line. You take canon and make it unforgettable.
There should be a category for superfavorite stories to put this one in.

Screwed up as only House and Cuddy can be, with Wilson caught in the middle. An interesting idea, that House might survive both of them.
Don't know what prompt that is that you took up, but you managed to fulfill it without bashing Cuddy, quite a feat in these days. I think you handled the structure of the story well - not showing the House/Cuddy confrontation at all (that would have ruined the melancholy mood of the piece), getting the basic facts of the situation stated between Wilson and Cuddy, and then bringing House in with the final shocker of his being back on vicodin.
