This is a really good story.

Well, the circumstances are certainly terrible, but is good to see them together again. Well done.

He went over to Sarah's! He is a good friend. I like how he said "if, of course, sleeping is what you have planned." that sounds EXACTLY like him.

Poor John. But you do have a knack for writing the characters very in-character. I love how Sherlock doesn't immediately agree for John to move back in. It's just how he would act.
| CryptoSquirrel chapter 2 . 3/7/2012
This is so good! And it's so like Sherlock to go over there and give Sarah a piece of his mind without telling John about it is so, so in-character. What a nice end to this _
| CryptoSquirrel chapter 1 . 3/7/2012
Annnnnnd Sherlock continues to be a prat. Still funny though :)
| CountryGrl chapter 2 . 2/7/2012
Yes! Oh, this is just the best thing, I adore it! I mean, not the John being sad part because that was sad. But the Sherlock being all protective and revenge-y and not telling him about any of it - that was brilliant xD Ugh, Sarah is horrid. But her boyfriend was funny, the bit about 'apparent fear that this odd man was trying to befriend him' or whatever made me laugh out loud... This is going straight in my favourites!

Okay, how long have you been writing? I am consistently amazed at the flow of your writing and your ability to make it seem so REAL. Perfectly in character, loved every minute of it!

Right, a more focussed review!
First off, the thing that struck me about this story is how tightly it's written. There's no wasting words or pushing points home; it's really very well done.
I absolutely love how you get the throw-away-humour in there too. For example:
He'd even begun to pride himself on the way he could now make a cup of tea at the same time as doing something else, just the way John used to do.
I do like the way you get the physical interaction between these two without having it to be anything other than normal. They come across as very comfortable in each other's company which is what you'd expect.
I love Sherlock bottling up all his anger and upset to lash out at Sarah, and I love the fact that he knew before John did, and I think it was marvellously in character for him not to say anything. I like the idea that Sherlock would care, but not appoint himself and John's keeper. It comes across well.
I also like the fact that Sherlock is very self aware about his... inadequacies. Well, I guess he doesn't see them that way; but the idea that selfishness outweighs guilt. He doesn't mind that and he doesn't mess around pretending it isn't true.
I love the 'are you stupid' line to the next man. I often wonder that about both cheaters and their new partners.
I also like the made up conversation between John and Sarah. 'Hello... can you give this to John. Totally plausible. Totally like Sherlock to lie plausibly.
All in all, I like this one very much!

Ultimate win for Sherlock!
I always knew Sarah was a bitch! Poor John. he should know that my house is always free to stay the night in if he ever gets in this position again. ;) And Sherlock is more than welcome to come and collect him. Because once they're in the door, there's no getting out...bwahahaha!
loved it! XXXX

Nice Job! And it was so great to see Sherlock take care of John that way by going to Sarah's. I love how he took care of Sarah and her new boyfriend. It was good that he also told John how he hurt when John left. Thanks again!

Hah! Take that two timing wench! Go Sherlock! Yeah, okay, that was fun ;-)
| x-Pick'n'Mix-x chapter 2 . 1/11/2011
What a great story :) I love how Sherlock stuck up for john but let him believe he didn't thanks for this :)

This made me laugh and was a complete delight to read from start to finish. I loved Sherlock's double-dealing, first with John and then with Sarah (who deserved every word she got, too). Excellent story!
