Ardwynna Morrigu chapter 18 . 2/27/2012
W00t! XD Good thing Seph's still on the young side. Once he gets the full breadth of his shoulders in I don't think this would work so well.

This story is always going to remain interesting, and I always feel curious as to what will happen next. Thanks so much for the update.
Serphenia chapter 17 . 2/25/2012
Great story! I'm surprised that I hadn't heard of it earlier, considering how in love I am with time travel stories.

The world building is incredible! I've always loved fanfiction that seems more real than the original work. Your ideas about timetravel, and even how materia works in everyday life!

I don't really like the Cloud/Seph, not because I dislike the pairing, but because of their relationship in this fic. Sephiroth's still a kid and Cloud's his mentor, which kinda screws up the power-balance, at least to me. But then, I'm not big on romance fics in general, so it's not your fault.

Looking forward to your next update!

Oh god poor Sephiroth. He does so well at keeping his cool, but as he learns more and more I wonder if that will change! 3

I understand that the abbreviations you use are probably obvious to you. It would be quite understandable if you are irrated by this question, so I apologize beforehand for the possible waste of time. It's just been really bugging me... What does AC stand for? I am simply not familiar enough with this fandom to recognize the term.

Touru chapter 17 . 1/26/2012
Rarely has make-believe science in fanfiction been made so intriguing and enlightening. But more so, each chapter has a surprising revelation that brings a feeling of elevation. Remarkable considering that "A SOLDIER's Weapon" is based on dramatic irony. That is, the issues addressed in the story are obvious to the reader, while not to the protagonist, Sephiroth.

However, with the increasing canon-divergence and fragmentation of information, where different characters hold key-knowledge, Sephiroth's bumbling quest for the mysteries of dimension-time-traveling becomes engaging.

As for some constructive criticism ... "A SOLDIER's Weapon" is a lot of razzle dazzle, action and mystery. The repercussions of engaged in technicalities is that a range of emotions have been left unexplored. It is difficult to relate to Sephiroth's or Zack's or Cloud's loss because there isn't proper imagery to back up those emotions; to catch the reader off-guard.(Except for sose harsh sex-scenes.)So I humbly suggest, concentrate on the use of language.

I just love this story. Can't wait until the next update to see what Aerith has to say on all this. Sephiroth being all jealous makes me smile.
Splintered Star chapter 17 . 1/22/2012
Guess I should review this thing properly eventually, eh? I’ve only been reading for ages….

I read this initially during some downtime at work, and was forced to muffle a number of embarrassingly squeaky excited noises. Well done.

I’m sure you can guess my reaction to Veld seeing Vincent in that recording. (It was another squeaky noise.) I do hope that someone wakes up Vincent, at some point… I shamelessly love the Turks in general, and Vincent in particular. I think Veld is going to connect the dots on time travel much faster than Sephiroth did… he is a Turk, after all, and connecting the dots is his job. (Rather than a 15 year old who’s training has mostly been “kill things and don’t ask questions.”) -oh, shite, Veld hates kids being hurt, when he finds out about Sephiroth’s childhood…

Okay. So this Zack isn’t quite the Zack we know. I had suspected that. Let me see if I’ve got some of this straight, because I’m still not certain how the fourth timeline would work… (Is Jenova a time traveler? No, too easy…) Okay. Cloud’s source timeline is the canon timeline. He travelled back in order to stop and/or save Sephiroth, thus creating Zack’s timeline. This failed and – I guess he tried to mitigate the damage while continuing to work at Shinra? He worked with Zack and then when Sephiroth lost it – did AC!Cloud and the Native!Cloud both get involved? When Zack says that Cloud was killed at the temple, which Cloud does he mean?

On that note, I hope young!Cloud tells Zack that Seph saved him from bullies…

….isn’t Aeris like, five years old at this point? Or is that some sort of code? Also, thanks to the Scells, Cloud does know that Sephiroth is following him, right? I imagine he’s kept tabs on the kid the whole time.

I’m feeling about as confused as Sephiroth. I imagine that was your goal, so, well done. And I’m sure you won’t tell me… but, the fact that you’re writing about this timeline means that this is the time it won’t go all wrong… right? *wibble eyes*

Fabulous fic. I can’t wait for more!

God of Insanity chapter 17 . 1/19/2012
Whoo, an update! I look forward to this story every update. ;)

Oh boy, Veld got a hold of the tape. *shakes head* I don't know if I've said this already, but I still think Sephiroth got that tape a little too easy. I think they LET him get it on purpose. I could be wrong, but it is possible.

I was actually also looking forward to Seph confronting Zack or vice versa. I was mildly surprised he didn't try to kill him, but then again, he probably realized like Sephiroth, that fighting in that town would and could cause casualties. But still, Zack seemed very human in this chapter and everything he said, and the way he acted makes the reader, or at least, this reader, kinda makes me feel for him.

Makes me wonder why Cloud rejected Sephiroth. It seems rejecting him only made things much worse. Hell, if I was rejected (and I have been) I would be pissed, hurt, and possibly go insane. Of course, Cloud is a complicated person and something like that isn't and can't be easy for him. Zack was right though, Sephiroth (the insane one) put Cloud through a lot. Can't just snap your fingers and expect Cloud to get over it and be happy. I can kinda see why he's acting the way he is. It's obvious to me that he cares about Sephiroth, though. At least, so far to me it seems that way. All the little things kinda point it out.

Anywho, good chapter. Defeinedly loved this one. Looking forward to more. :3 333

Barranca chapter 17 . 1/19/2012
It was not a very pleasant thing for Sephiroth to find out, about the child Cloud. I hope it will help in changing the tragic events after all, despite Zack's pessimism. And Wouldn't Cloud realise he's being followed?
