![]() ![]() ![]() This was very well written. I enjoyed it immensely. It was really sweet and interesting to see someone apply Sherlock’s intelligence onto a five year old child. That dichotomy in Sherlock’s personality that showed his intelligence but still showed the vulnerability the adult Sherlock kept under lock and key now that he is older. Though there can be an argument made that John was different and brought out a different side of Sherlock when he was a child. That can be concluded by the tidbits in the story that were dropped by not only Sherlock but his parents. While Sherlock expressed surprise at John’s treatment of him, allowing him to feel safe to be vulnerable and less irritable and stubborn. His parents upon coming home immediately asked how much trouble Sherlock had been, thereby showing that it was the norm for them to come home to reports of Sherlock’s uncooperative behavior. Anyway I would love to read about Sherlock trying to get the memories of that time to come back. We all know that Sherlock develops obsessions and has an extremely hard time letting things go. It would be interesting to read a story that showed him trying to ‘undelete’ this particular information. Something he has never found a reason to do before, but now he finds himself ‘wanting’ that memory again. Almost like he wants his nicotine, he craves that connection to John no matter how long ago it had been in the past. It would be interesting to see Sherlock struggle with trying to understand why he wants to have the memory so much and how it all affects his interactions with everyone around him, especially John. I would also be interested in knowing if you would allow Sherlock to succeed in remembering the whole period of his time with John back then or not. Mostly because the story has great potential with either outcome. I really think the journey would be the most interesting part of the story. Though if you did write Sherlock remembering the whole thing, then reading the events from Sherlock’s POV would be highly intriguing. Thank you for sharing your story! |
