Wow a pureblood supremacist bigot for DADA teaching intolerance and hatred how is Hermione and Orion going to deal with this. This is far worse than Snape ever got. How could Dumbledore allow such an individual to teach?
Thanks for sharing your story. Please update soon.

Ugh. So much potential for despair from this chapter. I do hope it doesn't go down that road. It's bad enough having an Umbridge in 5th year, but having one in first is unenviable.

I have to say that I love your story. It is by far the best of the rewrites of Aya Macchiato work. I rather liked your explanation on pure-blood magic vs. muggleborn magic which was very enlightening and very much mirrored with my own thoughts on the matter. Now unlike a few of your reviewers I don't mind the idea of blood purist teaching defense.
My only concern is Harry/Orion's lack of reaction and dismissal of the defense teacher's lecture. It was a parallel of Harry's childhood. A young untrained wizard being abused by muggles because he is magical and being unable to defend himself. Harry's is going to have some type of reaction to being told that muggles are a threat to the young and that they have and will abuse magical children.
To quote you, "It's almost always the case that when a muggle finds out about magic they begin to fear the power wizards hold, and that fear leads to hatred. Their hatred of all things magical has been shown again and again throughout history, and has instigated atrocities such as the Spanish Inquisition and the Witch Burnings".
This fits with the Dursley's to a T. This was the reason that they abused Harry for all those years and I honestly can't imagine that not resonating with him in some way. Now I'm not saying he should agree with everything that the teacher was saying, but he would have to at least agree with some of the lecture.
As a side note I think that it would be rather interesting if Orion wrote his paper on Harry Potter and about the abuse of Harry by his relatives before the accident. He could feign seer powers to justify the knowledge, but alas I think that you are trying to move on from the fake seer powers.

Another excellent chapter. Here's a quick idea if you want to use it or not: how about Sirius meeting a girl on the force and taking her home for some R&R. Only things get heated and she ends up spending a few nights there. Then to compound things, she gets pregnent. Then Sirius sends a note to Orion asking him for advice of what he should do. I could just see Draco reading the note over his shoulder. Malfoy: Bet you didn't see that coming, did you? Orion: Not at all. This could lead to some jokes, but it could also lead to Orion having to prove he has the sight again to some non-believers. Maybe he could do it around when Hagrid gets the dragon egg (if you still keep that segment). That way Draco would have to be one of the guys helping to take Norbert up to the tower for the wizarding equivelent of a drop off. Anyway, just an idea. And better yet, Orion could actually get a vision of Sirius having more kids with more women (possibly) and then having to take them in (or at least support them). Because after all, the nature behind magic is belief. And if others believe Harry has the real sight, then who is he to deny it - especially when he starts to get visions.
Great job. Have a good weekend.

Not sure I understood. An openly muggle-hating teacher in shool, where a well-known muggle-lover Dombledore is a Headmaster?
Re-e-eally? Don't you think it's kinda unbelievable?
Explain, please, how such a thing has become possible on the first place.
P. S. On the other hand, if this guy is possesed by old good Lord V and dear Headmaster suspect something, he wouldn't hesitate to employ the man to have him "under radar"...
P. P. S. Nops, doesn't add up!
Young children are too impressionable, the Headmaster can't allow Voldemort to gain more future supporters!
So, how happened?...

loved it! and wow, the defense teacher was very surprising in how blatant he was. generally speaking you know things are bad when such obvious prejudice is taught in a class instead of just whispered around.

Nice chapter like always.
May I recommend a pairing? A lot of people are lacking in the Harry/Fleur area, if you did that. )
Hmm, I liked the bias professor, it was a change.
Will Harry eventually learn biting remarks like Daphne's to Pansy? Like the Pureblood secrets of people so to speak?

I love gift from Melania, and I wonder how Arcturus will react now, that Harry sorted into right house. No doubt he will see Sirius and tell him how pleased he is with Orion sorting.
I also read Adrence story, she (or may be he, I dont know) continued Morrighan Gift too. You should check it, its pretty good too. I love her/his idea of Harry Potter, who tryes to manupulate Dumbledore, by playing seer and telling him about that Albus should start to search for Soul conteiners and wait for aproaching chosen one.
I also like your Snape, but, he seems more damaged, that Snape in old universe, what I mean is both Lily and Harry are dead.
May be Orion would play seer for Severus too.
