| Guest chapter 1 . 8/23/2016
Ah, the phantom of "Christmas Yet To Come", from "Bah Humbug", is back in action. And this time with his own back story! He needed one.
In E 1, Day was rather a one dimensional bad guy. The gunfighter, that was the "fallen Angel". He had hit the bottom, and was beyond redemption. Here we are given, his " fall". ( good research regarding the railroad).(great line: "The devil drops back into dust when the wind fails").
One thing that was very unusual about Pardee's, was his first name, Day. A name in direct opposition to his trade. Day, implies, light. While his trade as a gunfighter, implies, death.
(There is a bit of irony, that Pardee would be involved in Murdoch's reclaimation, in "Bah! Humbug ". Still representing, Death, and still plying his trade. Only in the Christmas tale, his first name won out. By being haunted by, Day, Murdoch, saw the light).

Again, the details you embed make the reader feel like they are watching it all unfold. And the backstory of Day Pardee shows his malevolence. And finally the railroad man - a major detail left out of the pilot and subsequent shows in the series was the issue of who was funding Pardee. It never made sense that he would be acting on his own. This pulls all those loose threads together as you always do. Beautiful!
