I just read through ALL of this, and in my opinion:
THIS FANFIC ALONE PUTS THE SECOND MOVIE TO SHAME!
Honestly, the plot was so brilliant; keeping our favorite as one of the protagonists and not a minor/background character, giving each and every one of the characters a fair amount of screentime -not hogging the entire story to themselves-, NONE of the characters in the movie seem even the slightest bit OOC, and your OC's have great character development and they just fit in with the characters so well instead of sticking out like characters that don't belong…
You should've directed the sequel!

To Erik Mouse calm down man it's just a story. It is kind of sad but it is pretty well written. To OrganMan I enjoyed this story personally but I would change two things if I were you. First off I think Mrs. Brisby should have fought Nicolas at the end that would have been a cool duel scene. Secondly I thought the ending was too sad. What if it ended with Mrs. Brisby at an old age telling the story to her grandchildren that would have been pretty good. Anyway good story.

I've read through this fanfic the other night and I have some things I would like to say about it. In the beginning, it was hard for me to accept the Brisby Family being forced to move out of the cinderblock home forever because her home is Johnathan's home. Combined with the fact that I live on a small farm irl, I couldn't stand the idea of losing the farmstead to a power plant development with it getting paved over. Continuing on, I got the impression your journey to Thorn Valley plan was nothing but folly and a doddering fool's fantasy because you would destroy the Johnathan's home only to lead the Brisby Family to starvation in some wilderness. At the end, last chapter, was the saddest of all with the death of Mrs. Brisby herself and that ended up paining me greatly. You see, I have a large three foot tall Mrs. Brisby plush and just after I finished reading your fanfic, I was actually in bed hugging her next to me and I was actually sad because I like her very much. Even though she has a "very very odd family" according to Auntie Shrew, I like her children as well and I hate thinking of bad things happening to them. Maybe I am feeling this way because I have a bit of Johnathan's heart in me. And when I reread your pen name Organ Man, it has me thinking more like Orkin Man, which is a pest exterminator and I also don't like the idea of even exterminating the Brisby Family either. Since I have written stuff based on characters from the Secret of NIMH, perhaps its about time for a release of something of my own that may be much better with more care to the Brisby Family than this.
