luke reminds me of Ferris Bueller!

Why is there no character development for Luke? Nothing. He starts off as a messed up kid, and a junkie, and he still is that exact person in the end. Han's growth is great, really well-written, but Luke's is non-existent.

The ending was somewhat of a let down here. I mean, Vader didn't even find out about Leia. And he lost to palpatine. And Luke remained a victim throughout the story. I know that happens in real life, but this is just not a nice read.
Also, Indo's son being killed by palpatine came out of nowhere. It works much better for Indo's character if he drove his son to suicide. Indo sucked and it seems you just needed someone to help Vader here and no0 one else was available.
And if Luke and Leia are younger here, why is Han's age the same? He is almost 30, but flirting and kissing Leia, who is 16. At least in the cannon, she was of age. This is just wrong.
Yoda shouldn't have died off screen-there needed to be a flashback of that fight.
Palpatine is also written as someone incredibly immature, what with the tantrums and all. He was bad and all else can slide, but he was not a petulant child-he wouldn't have made it this far.
I kept waiting for Luke to snap out of it, for his and Leia's and Vader's reunion, and got nothing.
I also really hate that Luke killed marek. As if. If marek is alive here, he could destroy Luke, no matter what. Boy was stronger than Vader at a young age.
I don't dislike the story, but it seems the whole build-up was for nothing.

I've read hundreds of fanfics and books over the years and this story I consider among the best, if not the best piece of written literature I've ever come across. It's simply incredible how thought-through, consistent, complex and mature it is. The dialogues, characters, descriptions, plot - I rarely see professional books of this quality, let alone a free story. There is so much effort put here and work. Thank you for this masterpiece.

It started off a little too slow for me I think, but the world building was fantastic and once the pace starts to pick up, around where he meets Leia for the first time, I really enjoyed it.

I love how you explored the conflict that Luke felt and how that manifested into two opposites on either shoulder. Indo was his duty, pushing on as if nothing was out of the ordinary, and Han was his morality, struggling in vain to be free. I think that was the core of the story, Nature vs Nurture, and I still can’t quite work out for definite which side actually won. I suppose that’s why, in the end, he did everything in his power to not choose.

Palpatine again with his dastardly machinations. You have a gift for writing him, everything that I loved from your other trilogy is here, along with even more. Playing Vader against Luke by telling them Luke was Kenobi’s son was truly inspired. That one little act sunk them into so much animosity that even at the end when they knew the truth, they barely overcame it. And had Luke not been drugged at the time, who knows what would have happened.

The attack at the Corsin docks was the biggest Hail Mary I’ve ever seen, and shouldn’t have in a million years actually worked. I suppose it’s a credit to your progression and set up that, with all the other plots coming to culmination, it actually felt feasible. Without Han reaching the end of his tether, he wouldn’t have drugged Luke; Luke wouldn’t have kicked out Han; Han wouldn’t have told Vader; Vader and then Indo wouldn’t have rebelled against Palpatine; Palpatine would have noticed the ship and he would have survived at minimal loss. In fact, rebels wouldn’t have even known Palpatine was there. That all this, in effect the toppling of a galaxy wide empire, stemmed from an accidental meeting in a bar is perfect.

I have no words to describe the sheer brilliance of this fic nor the roller-coaster of emotion it made me feel. I smiled, I cried, I laughed, I threw my phone across the room in frustration, my heart ached for Luke and Han and Leia and Vader, I hated Palpatine from the bottom of my heart, I felt so anxious I thought I couldn’t possibly read another word yet I couldn’t stand not knowing either.

I don’t even know where to start, I just love every single thing about this fic. The attention you put to detail, the foreshadowing (!), little clues you planted chapters and chapters in advance (the blue dress!), the wordplay and significance of every singe interaction, every single misstep. The brotherly relationship between Luke and Hand which filled my heart to brim and broke it at the same time, the complexity and flaws of Indo’s character, Anakin resurfacing in Vader at just the right times (in that moment in this last chapter when Vader was just about to face Palpatine and commanded Indo to open the doors, those words were just so _Anakin_ to me?), the sheer power of the bridge scene… chills, literal chills

This is one of the most interesting and well written stories I’ve read on this site. I can’t finish it, the themes and general feelings it causes don’t appeal to me, but it’s still excellent.

I can’t believe I have read this before! This is another masterpiece by the author. Do yourself a favor and read it.

Just finished my third read…this is so good and by good I mean completely breaks my heart and makes me want to laugh and cry and scream all at the same time. Amazing work, every twist and turn pieces the story of Luke and Palpatine and Anakin together perfectly brick by brick.

This was a fantastic story. Thanks for sharing it.
