| AnitaHoward chapter 1 . 10/7/2013
Yeah, Donna is so totally better than Martha and Rose put together (though those two definitely had their strong points, Martha became insufferable and Rose was waaaaaay annoying when she returned from the parallel universe).
I loved this comparison: When Martha would have been standing in shock at a hand in a jar, Donna would have been examining it with interest and cracking a joke at its owner's expense. Yes! Perfect juxtaposition. That's so true; even though I thought it was kind of funny how weirded out Martha was at the hand, it was rather excessive. Donna was definitely not like that.
Oh, and yes, this is definitely a sad!fic, but so beautiful. My hearts are breaking.

You're right- somehow I missed this one. HOW I missed this one, I'm not entirely sure, but that's a question for another time, I suppose.
And yes it's definitely a wonderful piece! Sad as hell, but wonderful. It reminds me that I haven't written any good Donna-fic in several months... I feel like I need to pay tribute to the excellence of Donna again!

First off I'm a complete Rose/10/10.5 girl, BUT this description of Donna was WONDERFUL. You captured her perfectly. Donna is the best companion that the Doctor had, by far. She was his perfect foil and restrainer. Further, you contrasted Martha perfectly...Martha drove me insane.

This is so right in so many ways. I don't know how else to say it. A truly excellent bit of writing.
