I love this... SO much detail and background. Morgan couldn't get along with the other Agent, not a surprise. Seems Gideon is a bit reluctant about reid, but Hotch really wants him. Reid realy has pressure on him, hope he does well...can't wait to see where this leads.

This is a good chapter-I hope Spencer babbled during his interview. Rattling off facts while suffering from sheer nerves seems like something he'd definitely do!

Are the characters you describe from canon? I'm still waiting for my series 4 DVD set to arrive from Amazon, so I don't know anything beyond the first three series and the flashback of the un-sub who wakes up from a coma, one of Spencer's first cases.

I guess the quote from your summary is in a later chapter-so please update! I'm right in thinking this prologue is set in Tobias Hankle's farm, yeah? God, I had to skip the parts where Spence was being beaten up-and when he *died* for a little while! My heart actually stopped!-when I watched it on DVD the other day. And the dilaudid. Naughty Spence.

I think a good nickname for Spencer would be "ponyboy". You know, The Outsiders. "Stay gold, Ponyboy." I think that pretty much defines Spencer's sweetness and innocence (without being naive).

Off to a good start with this, please continue because this is the first Criminal Minds (Spencer) fanfiction I've found that's intrigued me enough to read past the first paragraph!

Not catching Hankle and finding Reid was never an option. The guy messed with one of their own. They ALL wanted his "head on a stick."

As JJ said, they needed Reid to find Reid. They are a team and they need each other to function, both on and off the job. Protecting one another is self defense.

Hotch is making the others rest, taking care of the ones he still has. It's kinda poignant.

Even if Gideon, Em, and Garcia didn't feel guilty in some way, they are still probably drowning in second hand guilt. We know Gideon was trying to be there fore Hotch. Emily was tending to JJ. Garcia probably ended up comforting Morgan.

You wonder how many of them actually got some sleep those nights.

Morgan knows why Reid went after the guy. Because he had to. Letting him get away wasn't an option. He was after him even after he KNEW JJ wasn't behind him and he didn't give up the chase until he heard JJ scream and then all he could think about was getting back to her. His safety was never in the mix.

Tobias Hankle tortured 7 people for 2 days and never laid a hand on six of them.

Morgan's up. Hotch is up. Gideon's probably not asleep. JJ is too scared to close her eyes and Em and Garia are worrying about everyone.

Morgan, you may not have been a good example, but the last time was probably a terrible warning...then again he did it anyway. Then again he's a scientist so he may not believe it until he's duplicated the results. "I split up. I get grabbed."

Those two keep arguing over fault and JJ and Reid are just as ready to take the blame.

What ever did the junior G-Man get himself into then? I'm waiting!

How nice...this makes me intriged as to why he went to the Academy, and what Morgan is talking about last time...Sounds like a real interesting story, can't wait to hear more...

Oh... This is sooo good! I love reading stories about Revelations. And this is involve the team. I lke seeing morgan like that.I know this wasn't his fault but seeing his tought like that, seeing him howmuch care about the "kid" was so nice.

And Hotch... In the episode when he told Gideon something about not prepeare emotional things, i thought hotch felt guilty as much as others... So seeing him now was seems right. But i wonder 5 years ago?
