One of the most beautiful story I ever read, about this pair! I do not know what to say. I will say one thing, the story is fantastic!

Hey there! I'm making the rounds with the FTLOW contest entries and I was so happy to come to your profile and see this up.
This is one of those stories that really spoke to me and it truly was a pleasure to read it while validating. And now, I get to read it again as solely a reader, which I always love doing too! :)
"She stands out from the crowd, and stands alone on the side, watching everyone around her with a pout and sad eyes."
I love the wording - she stand out from the crowd, and stands alone on the side. Awesome.
"Miniskirts to appear older.
Make–up to appear sexy.
Chucks to appear grounded."
"She is a real full bodied woman, while I have loved someone who, throughout my life, has been the only one for me, never aging in my mind, but remaining the sweet little girl who loved me innocently. Rosalie is real, but I love someone who never was."
A lovely, although pained, description of Rosalie.
"But now we are pilgrims, back with family, and friends, sharing a meal and thanking God for everything we have."
God, I love that line.
I very much like a story that goes full circle and I like the start and finish being the same. It's a really poignant way to tell a story. You really take the reader on a ride with this story, bringing us through the life and times of Alice and her journey in finding love. It's not a snapshot, not one moment in time, and it doesn't have to be one person or gender. It's all the moments put together than makes us who we are.
Congrats on Best Individual Character. There were so many wonderful ones to choose from - your Alice really had a distinct voice and a wonderful story to tell.
Thank you for writing!

As a straight person who doesn't really like slash...this fic made me respect the condition of homosexuals. I hate how easily people shove the subject under the carpet and stay away from controversy, and this fic treated the subject with such poignant sympathy... For once I understood what the conflict of not fitting in is. It drastically changed my perspective, and I think in making others think, question and reasses, is where the beauty of this fic lies. Brilliant.

Oh my goodness. I woke up this morning to the good news. Congratulations, JJ! Well done! I'm so proud of you. I know I've said it before - I love your Alice in 'An Ode to Love'. I enjoyed reading the way you chart out her journey of discovery of what it means to love, to surrender and to reciprocate. An Ode to Love is also a poignant read and I know I'm repeating myself now as I've said this before. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see how someone can be so full of self-loathing and doubt that they remain the closet, as it were. And that journry to self-acceptance is a tough one. You wrote that very well too. Well done my friend.
