mystica88 chapter 1 . 6/29/2014 Just found this AU and I LOVE it! I know it's been a while but please continue! |
Guest chapter 1 . 6/27/2014 and then the thousand year blood war... also kenshins Bankai... also Gin. Gin meeting Kenshin. |
Meiyo no Ko chapter 1 . 8/5/2013 AWESOME. This whole AU is just... MADE of win. First off, Kenshin-Like A Boss-and then choosing to use Ishida, rather than the altogether too usual Ichigo... Well. I heartily approve AND enjoy. Any further works-if we're being honest, ANYTHING by you-will be snapped up in a heart's beat. |
general zargon chapter 1 . 4/1/2013 *Hears dramatic music playing* Poor Ishida, Kenshin put him between a rock and a hard place, didn't he? I wonder if Kaoru became a shinigami in this AU? I really liked Ishida's thoughts on Ichigo, and I thought you wrote him really well. I LOLed at that scene where Kenshin threatened Urahara with Kaoru's cooking - I can actually see him doing that! :) I hope you continue this series, I'm really enjoying it so far! |
Alpecca Ankaa Black chapter 1 . 12/9/2012 I LOVE this story! You've done an excellent job of merging the two fandoms. |
Jan chapter 1 . 8/18/2012 I'd love to see a continuation of this series! |
Guest chapter 1 . 7/1/2012 I'm so desperately in love with this idea. Being a Quincy is pretty much how Ishida defines himself, but does Quincy honor demand he actually give up being a one? And even if it didn't, would his own individual honor code demand it? And even if THAT didn't, would he anyway to help his friends? I know for sure that last one is true, and I think he could justify the second, as protecting the world surely doesn't go against his own, or even Quincy honor. But would giving up his Quincy powers when there was another option just to help his friends go against the first? Yep, I'd think in his mind it would. So even though he would still do it, he'd sill have to struggle with that first question. And that's a big thing, because he IS a Quincy. That's just what he is, and would still be even if he gave up that power. And now I've just muddled my own thinking, because if he were still Quincy simply with different powers, maybe it wouldn't seem like such a bad thing...hmmm. But, no. I think some part of Ishida would feel like he was betraying his race, but he'd be willing anyway. And that he didn't have a choice to start the process would give him some comfort (brilliant writing by the way, that was a powerful scene). And as much as I love all that, I love the thought of Kenshin kinda guiding him through some of that, or at least comforting him a bit while he deals with it on his own. And the thought of Kenshin training him is so ridiculously awesome to me. I really have a thing for mentor-student relationships, and that it's Kenshin (Kenshin!) doing the mentoring makes it so much more bad-ass, and also a bit adorable somehow. Maybe not adorable, but something kinda sweet...I don't know, I just like it. I love how he's portrayed here, too. Basically I love this whole damn verse is what I'm trying to say what I'm trying too say with this block of text, and I hope someday you'll return to it. -Leigh |
Azhwi chapter 1 . 6/7/2012 Fascinating angle. I love how angry Kenshin is at Urahara about Rukia's role as sacrificial lamb to the greater good (or as a hopeful garbage disposal unit). Someone had to beat him about the head for that! Really looking forward to the rest of this story (when it comes about). Ishida definitely needs more consideration other than just another person who throws energy about. Not to mention Kenshin getting involved in yet another fandom. *glee* |
BlueMew24 chapter 1 . 3/23/2012 I like this story. It's an interesting idea. Please continue this. |
Anne Camp aka Obi-quiet chapter 1 . 1/28/2012 But you know, as much as he wants to stick it to Shinigami, I think he really does want to stick it to Ryuuken more (or at least almost as much, LOL) Fabulous story, as always. |
Osprey Eamon chapter 1 . 7/28/2011 I really like this AU/crossover and how you use it to highlight and explain the corruption in Seireitei. You’ve done a wonderful job meshing the two worlds and fitting Kenshin into the Bleach side. It does seem unlikely that in all the thousands of years of human history there had never been a substitute shinigami before – though if had happened in the Bronze Age on the other side of the world then they might well be excused not knowing about it. The issue of the Quincy is . . . a messy one. I don’t think anyone’s denying that. Out right destroying souls to prevent people dying is serious overkill given Bleachian metaphysics. But genocide was an equally extreme reaction, especially since Kenshin implies that it may have been possible to reach a compromise. One would suppose that the shinigami justified their actions to themselves with the fact the souls of the Quincy would continue to move through the cycle of reincarnation while no longer being able to remove others for it, permanently. *Would* it be possible to find a way to use Quincy powers to purify souls rather than destroy them? It’s nice to see you aren’t going to let Mayuri get away with as much crap as the Gotei 13 do. That annoyed me. Even with the war against Aizen, it still annoyed me. The portrayal of the characters and their interactions is both believable and engaging. I hope you continue these one shots – it should be very interesting to see Ishida and Kenshin’s relationship develops, and how the other characters react to it. |
Sage of Wind Dragons chapter 1 . 6/8/2011 A brilliant story I would dearly like to see the next part and this is in my opinion what you should continue writing in a full blown story God, imagining your brilliance by what you did with Embers from Avatar and this from bleach, gives me the shiver's as that interesting stuff you could do with soul society and The Soul King? Kisuke an Aizen in your hands? those two chess master's? when we only saw slight hints of their plans interactions... I would love you forever if you made this your next story making the greatest Bleach story after your masterpiece with Embers (the greatest in its field as well) perhaps you should do a poll on what we think you should write next? just to get a clearer opinion from us though, your the writer after all. ps allowing non account reviews would get you a hell of a lot more but i am sure you have your reasons. |
iamnuff chapter 1 . 4/2/2011 huh. wow, this is... i dont even know. words fail me. |
Firehedgehog chapter 1 . 3/19/2011 awesome new fic in this series |
skenshingumi chapter 1 . 2/27/2011 I was delighted to see this because your RK crossovers with any verse are always so enjoyable. I have a bit harder time with the Bleach ones only because I stopped following Bleach too early to get everything but I do get the drift. I love how you manage to have Kenshin fit in so damn well to these different settings and storylines. His anger at Urahara and his determination to give Ishida a path to help protect him and his friends rings true to his character and work for the story. The way you write him always read so right. It's funny because I was in the mood for a really good RK AU and just reread your RK-Star Wars crossover which I think is brilliant. It's always good to see you writing Kenshin again. |
