Earandil, Elrond's father, took the Great Jewel with him to Valinor, and sails the skies with it! The Silmaril is indeed the Morning Star! Hense the name Earandil! |
| Celebwen Telcontar chapter 6 . 3/17/2004 Excuse me, Sun Queen, but I believe that the name of the Morning Star is ideed Earandil. Elendil was the father of Isildur, and had nothing whatsoever to do with the Elves, aside from the Last Alliance and his relation to Elros (Elrond's twin brother)and the Lady Luthien Tinuviel. Earandil, on the other hand, is the Lord (I don't believe he was fully Elven) who took the last Silmaril from Middle-Earth to Valinor, and sailed on his ship through the skies from then on. It makes alot more sense to be Earandil, for the Elves believe that the Morning Star, in and of itself, is the last of the three great jewels, the Silmarils. | EHAB chapter 6 . 2/20/2004 Actually, the star is called Earendil. Elendil was the father of Isildur, one of the Two Kings of the last alliannce. Earendil the mariner brought one of the silmarils back to the Valar, so they set him and it in the sky as a star. It's in the Silmarillion. Still loving the story. |

| BigFan chapter 16 . 1/27/2004 Hello. First off I would just like to congratulate you on a brilliant and highly original story. I have tried reading a few HP/LotR’s crossovers and I would just like to say that in my opinion this is the best yet. You have something wonderful started here. I only have one concern and that is that it has been many months since you last updated. I understand about real life time constraints and that is fair enough... but if you are giving up on this story could you please post a note on your bio page telling your readers so that we will not continue to check. If you do plan to continue (which I really hope) then I don’t meant to pressure you - take you time and know that when you do post more I will be here to review. Thanks very much. |
