Reviews for The Chain Unbroken |

![]() ![]() ![]() Such an intense chapter. I could feel Erik waiting in a stuffy classroom to hearing his velvety voice calling while striking the Punjab lasso itching to strangle Joseph's leathery neck. I especially loved hearings Erik speak in his arrogant Opera Ghost tone. That is why I adore him, his assertive attitude. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I am blown away! This chapter dissipated any negative feeling I felt about Christine's sincerity or any doubt about her love of Erik. This is one of the best and deepest fics I have read about what happened after POTO. You are a very gifted writer! |
![]() ![]() ![]() WTF! For a man who is a guest in another man's house, Robert acted very out of line. How could he hit an injured man? If it wasn't for Emily, I could guarantee that Erik would have killed him. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh God! For a moment, I thought Erik was dreaming about being in a coffin. As a man fending for his life, I cannot blame him for killing others. Poor Erik, he was so delusional, he did not mind his own death. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I can understand's James anger as an adolescent but on the other hand, Erik is only trying to protect him. Mrs. Oliveer is such a horrible person, I would dread her coming around. Personally, I feel that Erik should have killed Jacob for nearly killing James but Christine's conscience kept him from doing so. I am loving this fic so much! I love how you write the character's as if you were in their mind. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, I have to say that I am happy that I stumbled upon a fix where Erik had a chance to become somewhat of a normal man and not stewing in his obsession of Christine. Although I feel her pain, did she really not expect Erik to move on with his feelings? Especially after she married Raoul? |
![]() ![]() ![]() In my eyes, this story is a piece of art! I really don't get why it has so few reviews. Your writing style is so beautiful- you can evoke really strong feelings with just your words and the world (of emotion) they create! I love the amount of detail and psychological insight you put into your story. It didn't feel rushed, you took the time to develop plot, characters and motifs. And still it was highly suspenseful, I could hardly stop reading! Your insight into Erik's and Christine's thoughts and feelings is breathtaking- it felt so right, their development, their complexity and the intensity of it all. I loved it so very much! It is not often that I read fanfiction of such high quality; you captured the characters exquisitely (I don't take it well when they are OOC- and they were not!), Erik's dark sense of humor made me laugh out loud, the plot and suspense let me bite my nails and your second to last chapter left me crying. Thank you so much for sharing this story, I am so happy that I found it! (And please forgive me for leaving only one review- if I could express myself better in English I would have left a word after every chapter, every single one had at least one moment where I was deeply moved or impressed...) - Greetings from Berlin! |
![]() ![]() ![]() When I thought Erik had been killed I was shaking my head and gasping NOOOOOOOOO! When I learned that Christine's Erik (dare I say "our" Erik?) was alive, it was the sweetest relief. The faking of his death reminds me of the 1969 movie Where's Jack? about a charismatic thief and jailbreaker who became a folk hero in 1720s London; the viewer and Jack's loving wife did not know until the last moments of the film that Jack had survived his hanging. Incredible novel, Inkblottales! I could hardly move away from my computer until I finished reading it. You certainly reminded us that we should not make assumptions and that "it ain't over 'til it's over". You really are one of the finest authors on this board. I hope to hear someday that you've been published, you deserve it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() In the same session, Eric is convulsed with jealousy over Mr. Hamilton's attentions to Christine, and yet he later tells Christine she can leave him and go to work in London. Like most editions of Erik, this Erik is his own worst enemy. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry I haven't reviewed before chapter 12. This novel is beautifully written, that says it all for me. Eric wants Christine to think he doesn't love her any more, how tragic. She has chosen him again and again, and each time he draws back. When will he learn? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Amazing story. Started reading and stayed up all night to finish it. I loved how you portrayed Christine in your story |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bravo! This story has been a true pleasure to read! I first saw this story some time ago on TWS and decided I would read it when it was finished. Well, I got a little sidetracked… and didn’t get around to reading this until now. I’m sorry I waited so long because this story is a treasure. From your complex, complicated, very human characters to your intricate and ever moving plot, I was riveted by this tale. You never had your characters behave in the trite way that so many incarnation of Erik, Christine, Raoul, and even the lesser secondary characters do. You made me want to scream at Erik for his stubbornness, yell at Christine for her actions, laugh at Emily for her big mouth… and hate Jacob with a burning passion. Yet the best thing of all is you made Erik’s and Christine’s tumultuous relationship an ever growing and evolving entity all of its own. It was a dark, twisty, angsty road you led me down, and I was glad I took the journey. Thank you for gracing us with this story and sharing your talent with all of us who are captivated by complex men. -Jax |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you for sharing a beautiful, well written story which I enjoyed reading very much. |
![]() ![]() Beautifully written ! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh. My. God. I had to literally pause for like 30 seconds before resuming reading the last chapter because I was so pissed and incredulous that you had killed Erik. I'm SO glad you didn't really kill him! You really had me going, dude! I was shocked! This was an amazing story, quite the ride. I was like on an emotional roller coaster with the characters. Kudos, my friend, kudos. Keep up the good work, keep writing. I appreciate all your hard work! Thanks for the amazing read! |
