| Lady of the Shards chapter 1 . 2/17
I really like this. I can see all of them reacting like this. This was fun.
| Mercenary Flyer chapter 1 . 2/10
I like this story. I feel like it could be actual canon to One Piece, which is rarely a bad thing in Fanfiction.
| eagermeager chapter 1 . 8/10/2013
This... makes a whole lot of sense. Loved the way you explored Zoro's/Mihawks motivation regarding their first meeting. Interesting that it's all about perspective.
I wonder though, if this story wouldn't be a better read if the summary didn't include the final line. It simply doesn't have that 'oomph' to it- you know it's coming.
| KannaMatsumoto chapter 1 . 7/27/2013
It's a very good story, but it would've been even better if the challenger had been a girl. You know, in Kuinas memory.
| tsuki107 chapter 1 . 6/30/2013
Loved it :)

Whoa! I loved that moment when Sanji woke Zoro up for watch and they trade blows casually. That speaks more than anything else about how much they've been through together, to me.
I love the parallels drawn between Zoro's battle with Mihawk and then with Erec. I also love how Luffy understands, because of course he would! xD
I think you've dealt pretty well with the emotions in this. (:
| Endless Strategy Games chapter 1 . 9/5/2012
Perfect. I try not to use the word lightly, but this story is so... well, don't make me say it twice. Obviously your writing was well paced and everyone is in-character. The story is good, a popular idea done better than most. But most of all, I just have to thank you for making a fic with Luffy as the pirate king. Half the fans think it would be best if Luffy followed in Roger's footsteps to a tee, and suffered his same fate. But the alternative is much more interesting! Sailing around toe world as pirate king, fighting for territory, visiting every uncharted island as Nami continues her world map, revisiting Alabasta... I just love it. Thanks for that.
| calliopechild chapter 1 . 3/20/2012
Another awesome Zoro fic. You did a great job of getting in his head again; the characterization was dead on. I can totally see Zoro doing this someday, see this as being the way the title is passed down, like the ones with the title choose who will carry it next just as much (if not more than) as the challengers themselves. Very neat job, and another fun fic.
| Faux Reves chapter 1 . 2/4/2012
Another wonderfully written story, but I do wonder that if when you wrote it, did you already know that Mihawk had taken Zoro as his student in Thriller Bark. (Was that part of the story even out yet? When they were seperated after Shabody...I actually beleive it was...)
| MissJudged16 chapter 1 . 12/18/2011
I knew all your other writing would be as epic as Mindshatter. Excellent job on this. I would love to see more post story stuff from you. It's very well written.
| Rai Science chapter 1 . 12/3/2011
ZJFBSJKGFSKJFHNSDKLFS *Keyboard slam of joy* This fic is SO AMAZING! I've been hunting for a Zoro-finds-his-successor!fic and this is the only one I've found and it. Is. INCREDIBLE! I love it so much!
"That kid...is the man that is going to kill me one day."
The second I saw this line I knew I would love this and I was right because It. IS. AMAAAAAAAZIIIIIIIING! *squees of joy*
| Taryn Streambattle chapter 1 . 9/20/2011
Ah, very very satisfying!
I never really thought about how Mihawk saw it, with all those challengers, and you provided an excellent glimpse into his mind through Zoro's head.
"The kid wasn't just a regular brat trained with some skill in the sword arts; he had the spirit for it, the guts it would take to keep pushing forward, to keep getting stronger, to keep reaching for his goal, to die for it if he had to. The kid was raw yet, but with time, and with the drive that he had, he could get there. He could, just maybe, be deserving of the title World's Greatest. And unknowing, he had acknowledged that for the kid, testing him, showing him the respect that potential deserved by facing him head-on as the World's Greatest." That part really sounded like Mihawk.
Oh what a shame it would be if this kid joined the Marines to work for the World Government... but since he said the Marines treated his village like trash, I doubt that will happen. :D
The fight scene was very very well written, different from the fight at Baratie, but it was also essentially the same. Really, all that was missing was an arrogant guy demanding another duel.
I liked Erec's siblings. And I almost wish I could see what ridiculous outfits the other so called swashbucklers wore.
Erec's motive and reasons for being the World's greatest was another point I liked. For some reason, I think that to be the world's greatest there needs to be something more than Ambition- Like Zoro's promise to Kuina and Luffy. I approve!
"nobody is foolish enough to try and attack the Pirate King anymore." Obviously, the World G didn't follow the handbook. Though the Strawhats're probably insanely strong by now. I bet Luffy wishes they would attack him on days that he's bored, though.
"Luffy always understands the things that really matter." Lucky for them, he does, or the whole crew would have been dead several times over.
"That kid...is the man that is going to kill me one day." OH I wish I could see Sanji's reaction to that. But then, Zoro left Mihawk alive so maybe Erec will leave Zoro alive... I hope.
Very very well done. I enjoyed this alot.

This! I really like this fic, this is now my future head canon.
