Aw, this is what I really needed right now. So, so incredibly sweet. I love how you give us both their POVs, showing how Dean is hesitant to help and Sam is hesitant to reach out. Dean's still smarting from Sam's leaving, and he needs an invitation to know that it's okay to help Sam, but the second Sam even says his name, he's back in the saddle. He knows exactly what Sam needs and he takes care of him like nobody else could, and Sam's just so relieved that it devolves into a major chick flick moment. Not that Dean doesn't try to forestall the sappiness: "I see you're still a girl ... And a baby girl at that." But even that bit of teasing is so natural, so much like when they were kids, that it kind of just gives Sam permission to let go of the tension and be a kid again for a minute. I loved this. Well done.

So, there I was, cruising along and enjoying the story, feeling little heart tugs here and there and then you had Sam go and hug Dean, and tell him he missed him and it was so unexpected. It was what I wanted him to do but never expected and it caught me off guard, made me start sobbing and what the hell? Thank you. This was perfect.

I cried.

Very sweet. The brothers start to reconnect. It will take quite a while but I think they will eventually heal their relationship.
