What a clever and well written story. JJ LaRoche is one of my favourite reoccurring characters, nice to get inside his head.

I'm not sure if you still watching TM but the latest episode 5x21 reminded me of this story you wrote. I really miss your TM story. No one get all the characters voices as good as you!

Being a serious cat-lover, I kind of want to start watching the series after reading this.
| Angels-heart1 chapter 1 . 5/18/2012
Very interesting, and very enjoyable story.
| Lothiriel84 chapter 1 . 5/9/2012
Beautifully written, and very interesting! I never thought I could like LaRoche that much before reading this!
And I simply loved the comparison between the team members and differend breeds of dogs - not to mention the odd one out, that is the cat.
Jane is very much like a cat, I guess... I think of him as Alice in Wonderland's Cheshire cat sometimes.
Congratulations for writing a wonderful piece like that!

"I haven't seen much fanfic about JJ LaRouche and this is the best. Insightful contemplations about the personalities of SCU members, and his own, via comparisons to cats and dog breeds. As usual, 221b Baker Street captures each character briefly and beautifully. Includes a phone call with The Cat, and Daisy makes a cameo."
| Shadowxwolf chapter 1 . 11/24/2011
Excellent. No other words. Simply excellent. You really got the characteristics of the team in a nutshell
| HappyDanceAnnie chapter 1 . 4/16/2011
What an excellent story!
Extremely well written , there is nothing to dislike and everything to like. Which makes it really hard to give a 'review' that can add in anyway. It's just perfect as it is.
Thank you for writing it and sharing!
| hardly loquacious chapter 1 . 3/25/2011
Oooh. LaRoche fic. That doesn't paint him as completely evil. I like it. You're right. Jane definitely is a cat. And Lisbon as a border collie is accurate. Oh, this has again made me hope that LaRoche isn't evil.

Thank-you! I was over at the Fox discussion board and was struck by what seemed to me excessive amounts of LaRoche hate. In contrast, I quite like the guy, and your story makes me like him even more - despite the fact that you portray him as a cat-hater, which I normally consider a serious character flaw :-) The breed comparisons are brilliant, as is LaRoche's consideration of Jane's cat-like qualities and uneasy fit with a profession filled with dogs. The narration feels and sounds distinctly like LaRoche, which is uncanny, since we've had very little contemplative dialogue from him on the show. I loved the phone conversation with Jane at the end, and the fact that the whole story takes place while his dog naps on his lap. Awesome!
| House Calls chapter 1 . 3/19/2011
I love the way you showed characteristics of each member of the team and LaRoche via dog breeds. And it totally fits for Jane to be a cat. Very well-written, and I like feeling as though I got a genuine peek into LaRoche. Nicely (as always) done!
| Mangst chapter 1 . 3/17/2011
I love this. I felt like I was in J.J.'s mind through the whole story. There is somehow something old fashioned and smooth about the rhythm. Everyone's animal identities are dead on too. :)

Glad to see you are back, I just love your fics and I've missed them while you been occupied with your novel (hope all is going well there).
The comparison between Lisbon and her team with dogs/cats is brilliant. You can see the characters in the mannerisms of the breeds you have mentioned. I myself have 3 dogs, a black long haired german shepherd, a standard chichauhua and the smallest yorkshire terrier you have ever seen (runt of the litter), but each character is completely different but they get on so well, so I can relate to what you are saying. But Jane, now Jane is definately a cat, my brother has 6, and you have definately hit the nail on the head with him.
Anyway enough of my rambling, I'm looking forward to reading more of your fics, hope you come up with more soon.
