Ok, first off I feel like a terrible person for not reviewing this sooner, but the reason I'm reviewing this at all (which I sadly don't do very often on this site) is because I keep finding myself drawn back to it over and over again. I love Finn, and the Hudmels, and any sort of angsty hurt/comfort for Finn, but I have to say this is one of the most lovely pieces I've come across in my search for the above categories. Everyone's beautifully in character, and yet it expands on those characters and issues much better than the actual show usually does. Sorry for the ramble, but basically I just wanted to let you know that if you continue to see more hits on this story without reviews, there's a good chance it's me rereading and falling in love with it all over again :) Thanks for sharing something so beautiful, and you would make me ridiculously happy by posting any other gems like this :)

Aw, I loved this. There really aren't enough daddy!Burt-Finn stories, and goodness knows Finn could use a father figure. I think you captured Finn's building fear well, and it seems very much like him not to say anything to his mother in order to keep her happy and avoid conflict. Burt was perfect as first the annoyed stepfather, and then a caring dad reaching out to tell Finn exactly what he needed to hear-it wasn't his fault, and he didn't deserve it. I like that you added in the touch of making the fight about defending Kurt, and I love that Burt gave him the father advice of fighting-take care of business and try not to get caught. I enjoyed this. Thank you.
