|Reviews for Hackamore 07 : Barranca|
| Guest June 5th chapter 1 . 6/5/2016
Other than Johnny infiltrating Pardee's gang for information - was never quite sure the full measure of
" Johnny'plan"...Your story gives an interesting perspective of what he was trying to accomplish...
But it is the end of your story, regarding Barranca, that leaves this reader begging for more information...
One might assume, that Johnny must have a subconscious memory of the toy horse - since he named
His real horse, Barranca.
Who named the toy horse and why - is still a guess.
(Barranca is a rather unique name for a horse. In Spanish, it means "a steep-walled ravine")
Why did Johnny use that name for his golden palomino?
(Because it is a big horse; because it is the color of the
Golden hills of California;because it is half wild?)
Or was the name transferred, because "Johnny had wanted the (toy) horse for himself"...and now the real deal belongs to him alone?
This reader feels like Dickens' Oliver, "please, sir, I
Want some more"...

Wonderful story! You brought that scene back to life! Was the little wooden horse named Barranca? Because I always wondered where he got that name came from. I love how you brought that all together. Thanks so much!

A beautifully written and poignant story.

Another great chapter in this lovely series, Anna. It provides a very plausible explanation for Johnny provoking Day up on the hill and forcing the raiders to attack from one direction. Nicely done.
