This is an amazing story that works for both the original Harry Potter series and HPMOR. It illustrates how one can use worldbuilding to expand on the wizarding world in coherent manners.

Great quote. And this fic nails it so much! I also liked the example of the man who had used reducto, and might or might not have defended his family. And theaurors let him go because the alternative is to condone cruelty...

This fic shows really what Azkaban isabout, at least until they get rid of the Dementors. Not even Bellatrix Black deserves being kept in such a place!

This piece of insight was lovely. There's something healing about it. Like there's hope in the quiet defiance that aurors like Greenaway act on. I loved that. I was shocked by it. I'm surprised that it shocked me that Greenaway did something like that, perhaps I'm too jaded? I wasn't expecting something so pleasant. Good job. I like how your young auror's thought processes went and what good thought finally let him sleep. Hopefully it's a good sleep.

Why didn't they use veritaserum? Speaking of, why wouldn't this John appeal to the court to use the truth serum on himself thus providing some proofs? Of course, Memory charms could trick it, but surely wizards have other means to investigate. Otherwise, I don't see a need in their law system at all.

This is a great second-person fic, nice expansion of the HPMOR AU; sedate, restrained, sensible. If you want to read another great fic...try Mandragora by NothingPretentious. Just a rec.

I love this story. I wish it were likely to be true given the MoRverse, but I doubt it would be.

Also, if you got rid of the word "Bellatrix" in the third-from-last paragraph and changed the first paragraph of that section to "Your first thought on hearing that Black escaped one of the highest-security cells in Azkaban is not 'good'.", it would work equally well in canon as in MoR. This has the advantage of not spoiling anything that isn't widely known, and the disadvantage of not spreading the word on a story that is better than canon.

I wish the modified version were likely to be true in either the MoRverse or the canon Potterverse, but I doubt it would be. Then
