So this story has been sitting in that opened tab for a long time, months. I planned to read it, but didn't find the right moment to do so.

Today, I finally started it. And finished the 18 chapters that we have. I now know that, had I started it when I fist opened that tab, I would have had to wait for that 18th chapter as well. For whatever reason, I find that fact funny.

I don't have much to tell about what you wrote. I'm quite eager to see what you have in store for Harry now, and that talk seems like the climax of this story. Everything was built to lead to it. I wonder what it will bring.

I read your bio too because I'm extremely curious, and I'll use the rest of this review to "answer" it, though answer isn't the right word at all.

I'm glad you decided to continue this story. I hope you can still have some fun writing it, because to me that's what fanfictions are really about. Fanfictions are pretty rarely pieces of literature. Some will try too hard and create pseudo whimsical texts, full of barely understandable sentences and too flowery words. Others will try for an efficient story. Get to the point, straight ahead. Use cliffhangers at the end of every chapters, and focus more on plot than style. Just like those episodic stories that were published weekly in newspaper.
What I look in a fanfic is just fun. I want to have fun reading. I don't expect my reading to change my view on the world I live in. I just expect to come out of it with a smile on my face, or a throbbing throat, or a beating heart. The best fanfics I've read can be classed in three categories.
The beautiful ones. Ones that used a language that I found beautiful, ones that made me read for the sake of reading.
The immersive ones. Ones that got me completely invested with their world, the story, the characters. Ones that took the time to make me discover the universe it created, care for the people acting in it, feel whatever it would make me feel. Ones that kept me reading for the sake of discovering more and answering my numerous questions.
The "smart" ones. Ones that would make me change my views on the original material. That would make me think on it differently. That I'd keep reading just to see how far it will make me think, how different it would make things appear.
But I have to say, as far as I know, I can't think of a story that made me truly think I had a must read in my hands, the way The Name of the Rose did as I got into those incredible digressions about the world, religion, satire, respect, innovation, education,... When I try to think about it, only one really got me to think about the world, and it's not even my favourite (though I love it still.)

I like to review as seriously as possible when I read a Fanfiction though. Because the effort that went into writing it deserves respect, because some are truly better than some things that got published so it means that others could be, and because it let's me refine my own critical thinking. Reviewing makes me think about literature, imagination, art,...
But deep down, I know I have double standards and I would judge a book that I bought way harsher than a Fanfiction that I'd read. Why? Because to me, what matters most when I read a Fanfiction is the fun I got from it.

And that's why, more than anything, I hope that finishing this story will not became a chore to you. I hope you still have fun. I hope you can use it to experiment as much as you want. And I am extremely grateful to you and any author I get to read for the commitment you have to your story and your readers. Really, thank you so much.

Damn it the question that I've been wanting the answer to is the ducking cliffhanger. I hope you'll update soon because I'm loving this story.
