This is one of the best stories I have read thus far on this site - I can actually imagine it playing out on my TV screen. You write the characters so well, and I can't wait to read future chaptors.

Thought you handled the breakup with Josh and Kate well. They acted like mature adults especially when realizing she wanted kids and he didn't. The parting was calm but sad.

Castle inviting his car was too funny. Got a kick out of that line.

*grin* Okay, I really enjoyed reading this, long chapters are my favorite sort so that was an excellent start right off the bat :D I think the breakup scene was really believable, bittersweet but poignant. And later, Castle's asking to come as backup before he had a chance to think about it was also spot on. I look forward to reading more! :)

It's awkward trying to work around what the show has created between Josh and Kate. I think you managed it as well as any of us could hope to. At least you did both characters the service of making it emotional and more than a mere footnote. At this point it simply demands to be tended to seriously. Which I feel was done here. It's a case of irresolvable differences, something that's easily understood and believable.

I enjoyed the pacing. It moves along with a nicely organic flow, and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more. You consistently provide banter that's easy to imagine taking place between these two, and the little tugs of things that attract them to one another are splendidly realized. Perhaps it is somewhat off to imagine Kate allowing Rick to join her, but some suspension of disbelief should be credited to any story, and as far as that goes, it isn't so difficult to fathom she might allow it. Rest assured, it's entirely enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this chapter and am looking forward to the next one. You managed to convince me that she would let him go with her, which seems a bit out of character, but you made it believable. So well done and I am waiting for the next part!
