Your late night made my morning!
So much fluff. Lovely. Now I have enough to hold me over till the next update! I do wonder, however, about the templar's true intentions. Eeesh!
| Shakespira chapter 22 . 7/20/2011
Yay for staying up late! I mean for you, of course. I actually went to bed at a reasonable time for a change. ;)
The opening scene was beautifully rendered. I felt like I was snuggled up in bed, listening to the pattering of rain. It's adorable, and in keeping with who Sebastian is, that he slept on top of the covers and allowed Marcelle the luxury of sheets and blankets. But it shows he is a man, not a saint, that he held her all night.
This was very telling about who he is as well: "...he was greatly enjoying the feeling of being needed – being trusted." I imagine as the third son he was not afforded those things and that he understands his need to be needed and trusted shows how much he has grown since his wastrel days before entering the chantry.
The journal's contents were disturbing and reminiscent of some of our dark histories, when we allow our prejudices to overcome our humanity. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
There is such a graceful tenderness between these two, but such a simmering passion beneath it. I look forward to their continued dance as the passion reaches boiling point.
A wonderful treat, this chapter.

My, someone was up late. ;) And I'm up stupid early. It's what I get for choosing to live in the boondocks. :p
I loved this chapter and seeing Marcelle through Sebastian's eyes. I giggled at him sleeping on top of the covers so as not to tempt himself and to preserve their virtue. And I can't forget Andraste's face on his crotch. *snicker*
Looking back, you can see how Sebastian's resolve crumbles the closer he came to Marcelle. I'm sure there was a part of him that yearned for justice (no pun intended), but perhaps the resolve was more simply the drive and need to find her. Sebastian, in that respect, is a greedy man. He wanted to be the one to control her destiny. Now he does, but in a much more pleasant way for both of them. True love? ;)
That Marcelle, such a saucy little minx; stealing his breath with kisses at every opportunity. Now if she could just do something about that belt...
Can I say that the thought of more templars at Kinloch Hold, massive tree cutting, and a search for Flemeth sounds far too similar to a little town called Salem back in the 1600s? Methinks the sky will darken soon, and not with clouds.
You spoil us, your loyal followers, with such speedy and awesome updates. ;) Now, listen to the old lady and get some sleep. ;)

I really love your story and when this one will be finished, I will read one after another of your stories. If I would start reading every single of your stories at the same time, I wouldn't have the time to do anything else. :P
So, I love the latest chapter and I am looking forward to the next one. I also hope, that your RL-issues will be settled soon.

Short and sensual. Totally worth the wait. I loved the tenderness of their relationship and it totally fits their character. But I think they've waited long enough and I sure hope vows will be exchanged very very soon.
I wish I could offer my help but I'm on the other side of the continent. Words of encouragement are all I have and you can never have too many of those. You do have my support in that regard and if you need a laugh or some cheering up, just holler!

What a wonderfully sensuous and moving chapter. At long last, Marcelle's one wish - to be with Sebastian - is coming true. The question will be whether they can wait until she *is* the Princess of Starkhaven. I have faith in Sebastian.
There is a lyrical quality to this story, the intertwining of desire, faith and hope that captures not just the imagination but the heart.
"But he had been so moved by her words, by her beauty, her wisdom, that it was hard to deny all the feelings he had kept contained while he was in the Chantry." And good for him for acknowledging his "human-ness" as well as his humanity.
"It was a gentle kiss, a simple meeting of lips, breath, and spirit." Profound in it's simplicity...I love this image.
Nothing more sensual than bathing, unless it is having a man wash a woman. This last bit of the chapter was romantic and humorous ( "But I need to pray. A lot."; "Oh, Maker," Sebastian whispered, "truly, do not tempt me."; "I will not torment you." After a moment she winked. "Much.") and sensuous. It sets the tone for their relationship and is just lovely.
Wonderful, wonderful update.
I'm sorry I don't live closer to DC, I'd become your second-mom. Just know I'm here if you need me!

great chapter! I'm happy to see your back with us.
| Alice829 chapter 21 . 7/19/2011
So lovely to read over morning coffee. And much as I'm looking forward to these two consummating things, it seems very right for these characters to wait. I just can't see these two particular people hopping into bed first chance they get. But I suspect Sebastian may explode by the time he gets to Starkhaven! Wonder if the Warden Commander will make another appearance? :)
| Josie Lange chapter 21 . 7/19/2011
Woo, is it hot in here? Yep, and not just because it's going to be in the mid 90s today...yep, very hawt. ;)
This chapter had sensuality running through it from top to bottom, to and fro. I love seeing this side of Sebastian; he's letting the right amount of passion for Marcelle show without violating his vows or convictions. Of course, as soon as any vows are exchanged, all that goes out the window. :) You are planning that, aren't you? I know your aversion to such things. *giggle*
I wonder now what the fallout will be from their union...you know there WILL be. And will Sebastian find divided loyalties despite his feelings for Marcelle? What a tangled web you weave.
On a side note, you'll be OK in DC. It's only temporary...keep your eye on the prize. We're all here for you if you need a giggle. Not as good as really being there, but we can still help distract you. :p If you don't mind us (especially me) being silly gooses. Silly geese? Silly goose (in plural, like deer). OK, I think the heat is getting to me...
| naomis8329 chapter 20 . 7/7/2011
So engrossed in the episode as I was I was sitting there for a full minute wondering where the "Next" button was lol. Suddenly realised that it wasn't there yet. Yes, yes a senior moment overtook me for a full minute, but I'm back now :-)
A wonderful episode, the renewal of friendship and the acknowledgement of a love to be fulfilled perhaps. The intertwining of the Viscountess of Kirkwall and the Prince of Starkhaven, long overdue and eagerly awaited. Still more angst to come I imagine with the hunt for and the execution of Anders but hey let it come I say. I do hope she stops to see her brother before leaving Ferelden and that her friends also rally round to help her when she arrives in Starkhaven.
This story and Worth, so different but featuring similar trials, are both amazing and I'm enjoying both of them immensely.
Thanks as always for sharing hun. You make my week.

| the Scarlet Shade chapter 20 . 7/3/2011
Oh god, was this ever cute. The dream was lol-tastic, and Sebastian's ride-humping Marcelle is no doubt the first of many adorably awkward moments of sexual tension that I look forward to ;)
| cloud1004 chapter 20 . 7/3/2011
That was a very cute dream. Marcelle has come a long way to find some measure of peace to be able to have such a carefree dream. Of course, being in Sebastian's arms certainly helped. :)
Sebastian's transformation from an enraged man seeking justice with clouded judgment to a more understanding one being able to see reason with an open mind was simply brilliant. Leave it to our dear Lady Cousland to be able to leave such a lasting effect with hauntingly powerful words.
Such a beautiful scene when Marcelle gave Sebastian her phylactery. Perfect symbolism. Yes, Seb, she's yours now and I trust you to do the right thing! Bring on the fluff!
| Mesphia chapter 20 . 7/3/2011
