I really like the fact that Peter has a secret too (why its so hard for him to trust people). In the show, its always Neal who's background is at question but I like the idea that Peter has secrets in his past that Neal doesn't know about. I hope something like that plays out in season 3 ( nothing that would hurt their relationship ...anymore than it is now of course) This is an interesting start. Im
looking forward to reading more. Im sorry for such a long review. Ill stop rambling haha good job on the story! :)

Hmm . . . I don't think it's as simple as this. Neal has lied to Peter, especially by omission, and for years, he has led a very successful life of crime by lying and stealing from people.
Peter is paid to do a job where he protects the public from criminals like Neal, and he cannot afford to be naive or gullible. I think he's shown a lot of trust and respect for Neal simply by giving him the break he did - after all, there must be a lot of other con men in jail. I really hope the show proves that trust is well placed, and the writers and Neal don't let us down!
| Squee-bunny chapter 1 . 4/13/2011
Awww~~! *fuzzies* This fic is amazing already! _ Seriously, this has been my favorite of all the "Under the Radar" tags ;)
Too often do the writers in WC fandom make Peter a completely insensitive guy, or someone who's just too slow on the uptake. But you managed to make him completely and believably gentle with Neal. I couldn't help but 'squee' when Neal started crying and Peter was there to comfort (HUG!) him.
And aw, Neal admitting to himself that Peter is a positive father figure! :3 And then we have Peter guilty over the tears, and Neal bouncing back like a child! All too adorable and great for my blood pressure, lol :D
I have to say that one of the lines/images I most appreciated was: "With the hand mechanics of a 5 year old, Neal wiped away at his tears before turning towards Peter." I just about crumpled from the adorableness when I read that. And then to have Peter 'fix it all.' Mm, 3
Anyways, I look forward to any future chapters! You've got yourself a great story here! ;) YAY!
