| Robina Snyder chapter 1 . 6/28/2011
I freaking hate you! This story made me cry and more than just a tear that literature normally earns. It pulled a sob out of me. Damn you!
I was going to read the newest story you wrote, but the description on this one jumped out at me and demanded that I read it. I'm glad I did now. This is really well crafted. I'm not normally a big fan of one shots, but this one is so perfect. Thank you for writing it.

Wow, Julia, this was beautiful! I don't know how you managed to combine The Little Mermaid and Snape's life so remarkably and skillfully, but it was really cool and intriguing, and you did a wonderful job characterizing Snape and Lily and everybody! :) I think your Snape was true to the original character, and I really enjoyed how you strung the theme of the fairytale and princes and princesses into his life and character :)
Wonderful job, and keep writing!
| Pabulous chapter 1 . 6/21/2011
I can't believe how few reviews this story has. You captured Snape's personality so well - it really felt as if you were seeing it through his perspective. I loved the comparisons you drew between his story and the fairy tale, and your choice of words are brilliant.
| stilessttilinski chapter 1 . 6/18/2011
oh. Oh. OH. That was - phenomenal. I love this, so much. Snape is so - Snape, it's unbelievable. You've got the characters down so well and it follows canon.
And the them of princes and princesses - wow, I'm just speechless. Your writing is breathtaking - I love all the smilies and metaphors and /feelings/.
This is beautiful, truly.

| Inkfire chapter 1 . 4/24/2011
This was brilliant work. It was so deep, so moving and so well written... You conveyed all of Snape's emotions perfectly, especially his emotionless façade actually, the way he hides and keeps it all under control... It was amazing. I really liked what you did with the hero theme, too ;)
| Elle-Vee16 chapter 1 . 4/22/2011
That was so, SO beautifully written. You captured Snape's character perfectly. It was like you were in his very mind, or you're JK herself. I'm incredibly impressed, bravo!
| Keep Off the Dirigible Plums chapter 1 . 4/21/2011
I love it. I'm always very intrigued by Snape; I think he's a brilliant character, even if he's not the greatest person. I love to examine his conflicts and his perspective, and I love to read anything that does the same, especially when it captures his position and his emotions as accurately as you have. I like the comparison you make between Snape's story and "The Little Mermaid." I'd seen Disney's version as a child, but I have to say that now I like Hans Christian Andersen's version much better. It certainly fits Snape's story much better than the Disney film. D
The writing was wonderful, and I love your style. It's a great balance between a third person and a first person narrator; even though the narrator is clearly in the third person, it's almost as if someone - perhaps Snape himself, or perhaps you, either way - is sitting before us and telling the story in person at the very same time. There's a great tone to it and a lot of feeling in the way the words are handled that sometimes just isn't there in some third person narration.
Excellent job, and keep up the fantastic work!
