Well done! You managed to hurt Steve (love it!) but made it Danno's story nonetheless. I enjoyed his perspective without it being a first person story-hate those! Your writing made their friendship/connection seem very real and believable! Kudos!

"Steve's unshielded moments left him feeling a little like he'd been clocked with something akin to that surprise punch from Keoni." - That's the concept I love the most - that Super Seal is in fact human underneath it all. And that Danno is all sucker-punched at discovering that.

I love how you paint their relationship, their bond. It's friendship and then some, without becoming slash.

"You make it sound like we're married."

"Just don't think if this relationship goes south I'm giving you custody of Kono (...)" - THIS! *hearts* so much.

I like your take on those characters, from description of Danny's middle school and high school tribulations and how they shaped him, to awesome one-liners about McGarrett ("his inner Rambo kicked into overdrive" - priceless!).

Love me some good hurt/comfort, so - judging from all the readers' reactions - I guess I'm gonna have to keep an eye on you. :)

I like the picture of "Uncle Steve" and how that amazes Danny.

I love Danny taking Steve to task for not understanding the meaning of having a partner, or the fact that he was not some kind of super-hero. Then Steve goes and takes the wind out of his sails by apologizing for scaring him.

Loved that Danny admitted, at least to himself, that he was not just scared, he was petrified that Steve was dead and he hated to be afraid.

You know these two somewhat remind of two other characters who just happen to be brothers, but that might just be me.

I truly enjoyed this story.

Awww. You captured Danny perfectly. I almost felt like I was watching an episode of H50. My favorite line was "From now on, I'll tell people I answer to God, the Governor and Danno."

Wow, I think you've really hit the chracters dead on. Although, hopefully that's not McGarrett's current condition. Lol. : )

It's so nice to see you dabble in another fandom! I love SPN, or actually your version of it and now you've got me hooked on Hawaii Five-0 because of this story. Where I live we're always behind on series so I watched the pilot online and I steadily moved through the rest of the season before I read your story so I could see the characters, if you know what I mean.

Well, what can I say, you captured the essence of the characters beautifully. The only bit of critique I might have is that it seems impossible for Steve to be this alert after waking up from surgery. He caught on so quickly Danny's rant about him being a six million dollar government project ironically seems a possibility. But maybe that was your little inside joke.

Anyway, I really hope your muse keeps insisting you write for this fandom. And you said something about reviews speeding up the process. Well, here's my addition to that. I hope it works! *big grin*

"Detective Danny Williams was not a violent man by nature" That is a terrific opening line. Not only does it set up his basic nature but lets you know that we are about to witness Danny acting against that basic nature.

I really liked how Danny explained that he was the only one who was allowed to insult Steve, as if they were brothers, and I guess in a very real way, they are.

I wonder if Danny felt the need to put his seat-belt on with Chin driving as he often does when Steve is, I doubt it.

So Steve is Batman? I thought that character was already taken.
