| electropuff12 chapter 14 . 6/19/2011
It's fine. Admittedly, it is annoying, but since you were nice, and put in this authors note, I don't care anymore. it's just nice to know you're still alive. Take you time. xxx
p.s. I hope you exams what well (or at least better than I think mine went) :)
| electropuff12 chapter 13 . 5/17/2011
aww :( so sad...and great. I love drama :) I only read your other chapter today, so I was happy when I saw this (didn't leave me waiting to long). Also, I don't mind if your not updating your other story as often, this is a great one, and well worth all your attention :). Keep going, I'm very excited to see how this will go from here :D xxx
| Annalibelle chapter 1 . 5/3/2011
Well I'm not as analytical as A.A. Pessimal above, but it is quite interesting to see Discworld done, dare I say it, seriously. Such a cool premise, and it's done without being campy. It's so weird reading Discworld without the prachett voice, but I love your voice, which is descriptive without being purple. Beautiful exposition. The dialogue was nice and sharp too.
| A.A. Pessimal chapter 3 . 5/3/2011
Very nice. A sweet interpretation of the song and a novel application of the theme to Roundworld/Discworld. In less able hands it might have turned into a caricature or a cliche, but done in this understated way it turns out to be very haunting and memorable. TP uses the song as a theme and a recurring gag in "Hogfather" - well done for coming up with an original treatment of an idea which has perhaps run its course, for now, in the canon!
I'm not sure how much of the output of the Blue Öyster Cult you know over and above this one song, but a lot of the band's ouvre is available through You-Tube.
Can I point you to another Discworld-inclined song by the BÖC, "I love the night" ?
Call it up, listen to it, work with the images it presents - I won't try to guide your thinking over and beyond "Carpe Jugulum" - and I'd be interested to se what sort of story it evokes.
Or perhaps "Nosferatu"...
(Over eleven or twelve albums, there is a lot of the Blue Öyster Cult that has leached its way back onto Discworld... I suspect Terry is a fan...)
