I love the ending. Great job!

And you do it again. This is truly dramatic, I'm taking a drama course and I can't read more than three sentences before i get board. You however capture me again. I feel so sorry for her, a hard work woman that is just beaten down by life. Russia is so cruel to her, even when her tries to feed her he is cruel. True family would not leave.
And Canada and America come to her aid, acting as true hero's. No romance, but god dammit It's still so romantic. If you can do this with hurt and comfort I can't imagine what you can do with true romance. It would probably blow my mind.

I think this was a really good description of the event itself, and Ukrainian culture. It's quite poignant, perhaps a bit disjointed at points, but it helps the overall feel and stylistic aspects.
And the hint of hopefulness and America/Ukraine made me smile, of course :)
