Monkwriter777 chapter 1 . 4/22/2020 Really well written. I loved the suspense and the tenderness. |
Guest chapter 1 . 8/18/2019 Been watching Monk reruns and recently started reading fanfiction. This was a GREAT story, very much in character and one that could have easy been in the show. Characters were one point and the undertones were perfect. Great Job ! I see you have only written two stories, you should do more ! |
musicnotes093 chapter 1 . 4/6/2013 Well written fic! I've recently just seriously tuned into Monk, and I love it. I love Monk/Natalie, too. :) Your story is the most in-character story I've read so far. I laughed when Monk was telling Natalie about the germs from hitting the guy in the you-know-what. :D Good job! |
everhalcyon chapter 1 . 8/25/2012 Lovely story! |
Fallen austin chapter 1 . 8/10/2012 You know I'm gonna have to watch this now don't you! Great writing, I loved the dialogue between Monk & Natalie, they're clearly close friends. I loved the OCD moments. J :) |
Monker chapter 1 . 12/30/2011 Very nicely written. The opening to this was just splendid and very gripping. I liked how Monk didn't leave the window until Julie had totally escaped. Even though he's afraid of heights, I can imagine him doing this. He truly does care for Julie. And he also cares for Natalie and you portrayed this fact beautifully in this story. The romantic undertone of the story was very touching and I think you handled it very well. Watching the show, it's clear to me that Adrian and Natalie are very close and very fond of each other, so following that train of thought to seeing them as more than friends is not that great of a leap in my mind. Still, I do struggle sometimes with the stories that just have them declaring mad love at the drop of a hat. I much prefer these types of stories where the love is just sort of suggested. So I think you handled it very well. I also really enjoyed this line... "The significance of his words was not lost on Natalie, and she marked the moment so she could think about it later." The whole exchange between them, and how they were both so content to have silence between them, and how Adrian was so happy just to hear her breathing, or it was all just perfect. But I especially liked the quote above. I cannot put a finger on what it is about the line that I like so much, I just feel it was a poignant moment, I suppose. I would comment on this, however… “’Are you ready to go to sleep now, or should I make you a nice warm glass of milk and sing you a lullaby?’ she said, and he could tell she was grinning. ‘Actually, a glass of warm milk would nice…’” Hmmm…..somehow I seem to recall Monk having a pathological fear of milk. I can’t see Monk agreeing that a glass of warm milk would “be nice.” Actually, I can’t even see Natalie suggesting it, since she would no doubt know how Monk would detest even the thought. I would suggest changing it to having her offer to tuck him in, or something. You know, something else tangible that would require Natalie coming over to his house so that Monk can still have the line about calling a cab. That way you won’t loose your humor there, but you will also keep it consistent with Monk’s character. All in all, a very nice little story. I enjoyed it a whole lot! Keep writing! -Monker |

Monkwriter chapter 1 . 5/16/2011 Missed your writing. Very reminicent of the earlier years when A & N were discovering their love. Thanks for the story. Fun and on target, especially the banter on the phone with the interruptions. |
