| Deandra chapter 1 . 5/29/2011
Very nice! One assumes the slaves rejoiced at their freedom, but likely this is a more credible version of the reality that they faced.
One thing I might suggest: you might want to put the definition of 'tark' at the end of the story, as it is not used so often by Tolkien that most readers will readily recognize to whom it refers. If readers can quickly glance within the story to know what it means, it doesn't take them outside the story (while they are in the middle of it) to go look it up.
| Nrink chapter 1 . 5/26/2011
Beautiful. Will there be more?
| KyMahalei chapter 1 . 5/25/2011
One of the best parts of this story is the title. Very nice. I love the tone of this piece and the pragmatic and sober affect of the narrator. You've captured the essence of his character well. I want to see more of him.
| Metoochocolate chapter 1 . 5/25/2011
It's interesting although the "for me sirs" get a bit repetitive. Though I do understand it's for impact. :) keep writing
