Reviews for Birth of a Ghost
Ciekawa Osoba chapter 1 . 7/6/2014
Amazing! I never would have thought HikaGo and Bleach could be connected... Juushiro was the perfect one to meet Sai, as well. White-silver and black-wisteria... I wish I could draw, for that scene-with the purling river and the rising and descending of the two opposing luminaries.
Your insight about kami (kamigami plural) was very appreciated!
It is interesting, how Sai has no Chain but is still confined to a few shaku from Hikaru... The Ghost trapped within the influence of the Light.
Thank you for sharing this!
CMVreud chapter 1 . 9/20/2013
Good idea and excellent finished.
Nathy-666 chapter 1 . 7/9/2013
I was wondering, isn't 2 moku a big difference for a game which looked like very difficult and close?

Thank you for the story
Guest chapter 1 . 7/12/2012
Thanks for the explanation given, which really helps for readers who are not familiar with some of the terms mentioned.
That said, this is a piece that invokes quite beautiful mental images. The blind-Go game between the two, and the scene at the start, where Jyuushiro tried to calm a confused and nervous Sai. And the black-and-white contrast between the two of them. The description of Jyuushiro (hair the color of death (3) on such a young but ageless looking face) is both beautiful and haunting, and I think you've captured them both brilliantly, especially Sai's determination.
Superpower Lottery chapter 1 . 2/23/2012
What a weird combination. And you pulled it off.
Hikari-Pandora chapter 1 . 7/25/2011
Thanks, I had fun reading!
GravekeeperBat chapter 1 . 7/20/2011
This is actually very cool!

I never read that much of Hikaru no Go, but I remember Sai very well. Any hope to do another chapter of this, when Jushiro comes to send Sai on?
marc chapter 1 . 7/1/2011
hm, this is a pretty interesting one-shot. The details are fantastic, and its very well written. Keep up the good work!
Qem chapter 1 . 5/29/2011
This was quite nice. I like the concept, and agree that Go is probably what kept Sai from turning into a malignant spirit. (That and you can't play a honestly good game, if you genuinely wish them ill. Ogata and Kuwabara games, excluded of course. XDDD
CharmedbyFire chapter 1 . 5/28/2011
I very much liked this, its good to see. This was a great idea :)
Bobboky chapter 1 . 5/28/2011
nice
animenut412 chapter 1 . 5/28/2011
very nice!

an idea:

insted of visiting sai every century, why not just write an ending chapter whe ukitake-taicho turns up again to preform the konso?
Barranca chapter 1 . 5/28/2011
You've found a most curious explanation to why Sai retained his humanity. Ukitake must be an ardent player of Go himself. Sai is lucky it was not Kuchiki that came across him. Thanks for the story!
