Wonderful and warm and ...uh! Just wonderful!
Thank you so much for this beauty!
Dreamy, happy sigh - from me - to you!

A toe tag! Leave it to Dean to get all the details right! And snagging some drugs for his brother? Awesomeness!

To be honest, I'd forgotten about this story, so it's a present for me! Awesome that you're posting!
Your foreshadowing is always so wonderful. When Dean sees the creature licking the blood off his paws, we have to stop and wonder what's going on. Then Sam calls and Dean assumes he's saying that he hasn't found it. LOVE it!
Must read more! Thanks for keeping me from cleaning!

I like the idea of John, Sam and Dean just having a nice, social evening together, eating good food and playing pool.
They must've had some good times together, at some point, eh?
Can't wait for more, babe.

'Rick smiled, jerking his head in Sam's direction. "I heard you call him 'bro' earlier. 'Sides, a guy his size isn't a Sammy unless he wasn't always a guy his size."
Dean laughed, a short, shaky sound. "As a matter of fact, he used to be quite the shrimp."
"Hard to imagine."
A smile of fondness spread across Dean's face. "Sometimes, it's hard for me to imagine him any other way."'
Sweet story so far, hon, and that watch... awwww! You've done a wonderful job with the H/C, as always.

I am in love with everything you write! I especially like Sam's memories of John; I like reading something where he isn't made out to be a complete jerk.

Love the interspersion of the young memories and the fact that you're not making John out to be a prick like so many folks do!
Can't wait for the next chapter!

Great opening full of brotherly awesomeness and angst! Congrats on getting published too! That's awesome! Are you going to be doing more stories for the zine? I hope so! You've got a beautifully lyrical style peppered with just enough detail to really bring the visuals to life!
Moving on to the second chapter now...

| Rachelly chapter 2 . 6/5/2011
Awesome! I love the boys here. Dean answering Sam's call to proclaim his victory only to find out Sam's in trouble... The desperate race to his fallen brother...triage and a call for outside help...the hospital...and good brotherly stuff. Can we hope for an infection? Cruel, I know. But I just love Dean taking care of an injured Sam. It always brings out his softer side. He sure loves his kid brother. You did a great job with this piece and I can't wait to see how you end it! Thanks for sharing your creative genius with us! Rachelly

Aw, that was really neat getting to see some of Sam's good memories of John. So many stories focus on the negative. I really liked this :)

What a wonderful story. I remember it from the zine. I sure hope I remembered to thank you for sharing it with us at the time. If not, here's my thank you now.
I enjoyed reading this story. I alway love to see a worried by brother Dean in action after Sam has been hurt.
I really loved this scene and Dean did it a couple of times. Once when the paramedics were first helping Sam and then again on the helicopter. Dean had to stay out of the way, but still needed Sam to know he was there for him. 'softly squeezing his brother's ankle in response. He didn't remove his hand, leaving it in place to reassure Sam he was there, or maybe it was to reassure himself...' We also know that Sam had to have been badly injured if Dean never hesitated and chose to fly with Sam to the hospital.
I liked the paramedics, because they figured out that Dean was the big brother and also helped him visit with Sam prior to the surgery.
I also liked the doctor in your story. She was nice after finding out that Dean had snuck in to see Sam before his surgery.
You did a great job writing the scenes with Dean worrying and then taking care of Sam, plus what a way to sneak Sam out of the hospital.
I enjoyed Sam's memories of their father. It is always nice when a writer shows that John and Sam did have some good times and not just remember the final fight.
Thanks again for sharing your stories with us.
I'll check back for the next chapter. (I would just go read my book, but I'm dog sitting.)
