![]() ![]() ![]() I love the dynamic here! I love for as smart as Garrus is the Commander is just one step ahead and skillfully turns the game on Garrus. Also love Tali's horror at the Pizza and general cluelesness as to what's going on. The camaraderie was just a joy to read through |

![]() ![]() ![]() This was a very entertaining diversion! I laughed throughout the fic, going from one ridiculousness to another! Oh - Tali is so sweet and yet naive to things. Joker is well-portrayed. As a fellow cripple, I have to say that was a pretty spot on depiction of how one feels about having a disability in a public space even if we do not share the same disability exactly. Just one little quibble - I feel he should be using crutches or a wheelchair more often (It's a little pet-peeve I have about Joker's portrayal in general - I depict my Joker as using wheelchairs far more though hopefully he is as silly and sarcastic as the original portrayal by Seth Green) though Joker in this fic, of course, has his own feelings on the matter. No one disabled person is the same like like any other minority group. I love the bathic resolution of Garrus' mock-epic investigation of Shepard, and how Shepard steadily turns things against his interlocutors in his favour and in the process they are compelled to realise a few things about themselves and Cerberus. Like any relationships, Shepard is entitled to his own secrets. I can relate to Dr Chakwas and her tastes though! You are seriously tempting me to have a red wine hahaha! One of the things I think you can stand to make better is to make more textured observations about Cerberus micromanaging things amongst the non-Cerberus crew - maybe Joker suddenly finds out that there's a memory limit on his tablet/thingajimay despite him knowing that there's far more memory space. There were a few misspellings of words in critical places like muzak however I still got what you were going for. So not a major strike against the story. However this has been a real hoot and I cannot wait to read the rest of your stories! :D I'll leave you with my favourite moment in this story: Dr Chakwas thinking things about Tali crushing on the Commander then withdrawing out of pure decorum. That made me chuckle and smile. So thanks! :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love this slice of behind the scenes! Thanks for the share! |

![]() ![]() ![]() I found a little rainbow on a tvTropes page... I am so glad I followed it here. |
![]() ![]() ![]() While I chuckled and cried my way through this story (and probably the best drabble I've read, and that's saying something) what got to me were the characters. Garrus went cop-mode. It never leaves. Seeing the Commander jittery and knwoing something up, completely unfooled, was great. And I didn't see it coming save why would someone go to an expensive Italian restaurant for salad (honestly, I thought he was taking Miranda out on a date). Seeing Garrus interrogating and sweating Shepard out like a Blue Shirt in a sweat box was perfect; all smiles and noose. It struck me as perfect for the bend-the-rules cop who'd do anything to nail a perp to a wall... literally, if necessary. Joker was Joker, pure and true. While it's his sarcastic wit that gets us to like him, that he rolls over so easily is true-to-form. Loved it. Chakwas and French wine? Yeah, totally nailed it on that one. Tali surprised me for scaring someone, but she is rather obsessive-compulsive, isn't she? I could see her stalking someone (considering Quarians and their shipmates) and being on a Cerberus vessel would turn anal-retentive into anal-probing. That Tali could scare Garrus is funny as hell, reminding him when he asked questions that she does indeed have a shotgun. This was Tali, plain and simple. And trying turn Shepard into Cerberus, whom Tali has absolutely no love for as a means of counter-extortion? Brilliant. And then there's Shepard himself. Cheating on his diet. Which is cruel. If someone told me I couldn't have pizza again because it would screw my second life up, I'd tell them to go eff off. Seriously, what's life without the little things? I could totally see Miranda doing this, too; "Oh, too much sodium and beta carintine, better up the Vitamin K intake!" This story shows insight, great character development, a suave flow, and best of all, a great humor as we can see this happening. I almost felt like I was in that restaurant. I really wanted that pizza. Beautiful work. |
![]() ![]() Oh my stars. This is amazing. |

![]() ![]() ![]() This was brilliant! It made me chuckle a lot, and I don't do that often or at all. Thank you for this. The characterisation was on point too! |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was hilarious and adorable! |
![]() ![]() ![]() lovely and hilarious. You write humor soo well... loved Chakwas and her wine, loved Garrus and Joker teasing Tali |
![]() ![]() ![]() Big fan of your work. Every few months I find myself rereading this fic since it's short, sweet, and hilarious. Few things make me genuinely laugh aloud, and this story is one of them. You have a gift for dialogue and comedy. I think that you write the best Garrus in the entire fandom, hands down. Tali, while a little over the top, was a joy to read as well. Joker and Chakwas were brilliant additions (especially them selling out against Garrus). Everything here felt so genuine, that this little escapade might as well be canon. Incredible work, one of the best short fics in the fandom. |
