Keeping him alive to revive Madara in the end is always the reason invoked...

Look, the writing is good and all but that's about it. i'm aware that by just having that any fanfiction already deserves a lot of respect but this is disappointing. The MCNarutois so poorly written it hurts, the action is good except when Naruto comes in, then it becomes a corny ben 10, power rangers fight. The way the story is developing pretty much contradicts the whole premise of the first chapter. I'm giving this a 5/10, not impressed.

So corny yikes. Pretty mid story so far if im being honest. The amount of favorites this story has made me have higher expectations i suppose. Im not impressed

Yeah, I've heard that whole "itachi is REALLY a double agent"... FLIMSY, VERY FLIMSY...The problem with that is... HE SUCKS NUTS AT HIS JOB! He's totally WORTHLESS as a double agent... He supplies NO intel that they don't get on their own... He doesn't strike at the Akatsuki with any kind of competency... He's just TERRIBLE at it.. And he keeps INJURING KONOHA... Which a double agent SHOULD NOT DO! He's a LIABILITY, thus he SHOULD be "cut loose"... REVEAL the coup, reveal that the uchiha DID INDEED have something to do with the kyuubi attack(even if they aren't 100% SURE).. Put the extremely high bounty on his head... And then put sasuke in a HOLE somewhere and let Itachi know, he does ANYTHING AT ALL TO KONOHA, and sasuke NEVER SEES THE LIGHT OF DAY WITH LIVING EYES AGAIN! (he has a FAIRLY LARGE "hole in his armor" to exploit after all.)

"nothing would be the same anymore" when he finds out who he is (parentage)... Um.. Yeah it will, others don't know (somehow, I still say it's IMPOSSIBLE for everybody to be this BLIND and DUMB) and that's what changes things... The people that DO know are STILL going to keep all that a secret and ACT like they don't know (stupidly)... His situation doesn't change.. The people after him don't change... Heck, the Akatsuki have known since the beginning.. Since obito was there! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING changes... Except his own perception (which is a personal problem) It's been TOO LONG for the secret to have been held, for this to make a REAL difference... If it would have been known when he was 6 or 10 or even 12 THEN nothing would be the same... As it is? Not so earthshaking. BUT as far as the people(tsunade, Jiriaya, kakashi, etc).. They DIDN'T make "mistakes"... A "mistake" is ONE action that is regretted... I'm not even sure what to call this UTTER FARCE... Other then a "fast track to hell"... No, none of them will be having a "pleasant afterlife"(remember dante's inferno and what the ninth circle of hell is reserved for)... The almost DECADE AND A HALF of sheer stupidity is MIND-BOGGLING with it's CONSTANT actions that were absolutely unnecessarily cruel and regretted. I'm not even sure "forgiveness" can be given, because it WASN'T one or even 100 "bad actions"... It was THOUSANDS that they ALL kept performing. OVER AND ABOVE just "keeping a secret" in most cases.

I've never liked the akatsuki as characters.. This chapter and the previous one kinda PROVES WHY... I hated when Kisame and Itachi could just waltz in and waltz out of the village... It was dumb... This is my reasoning... If you have the group able to waltz in and waltz out of the hidden villages like a sunday stroll and you add that to their power (two of them can take down a tailed beast... So they REALLY DON'T NEED THEM).. Then they would just go from village to village, just dominating or wiping out each one before moving on to the next... You have to be VERY careful NOT to O.P. your villains in a story, as well as your hero.. And the Akatsuki are about as O.P. as you go... Because they eliminate the NEED for the tailed beasts... These "humans" are already more powerful then them. Just walking in and decimating the entire ninja force seems COMPLETELY possible thanks to this chapter and the last... For just 2.. Now imagine ALL of them... See? It makes the STORY ITSELF make no point... They ALREADY WON. It makes it JUST AS "boring", as if the hero is too powerful... There is no point to "hidden organizations" and sneaking around through the underworld.. They can just "show up" and pwn a place. It's difficult but the "antagonists" need as CURBED/LIMITED as the "protagonists"... (You can just make a LOT more of the antagonists).

Yes the "kindness of Itachi"... The DOUBLE mind rape of sasuke was a "great kindness"... Also the mind altering he gave the boy AGAIN later when sasuke wanted to destroy konoha, thus apparently PERMANENTLY altering his personality AGAIN(to something more acceptable to itachi)... You know, it cracks me up how many authors seem to think Itachi is LESS psychotic then the rest of his clan.. But HE ISN'T. (judge him by ACTIONS.. Not "intent"... He becomes just as evil cray as the rest of em').. Sorry for the mini-rant but I really did LAUGH when I read that line about the "kindness of Itachi" and all that other fluff you put in concerning him, "suffer in silence for so many"?.. The uchiha are all DEAD.. There is NOBODY who CARES about them... He suffers at THE MOST for just the kid he ripped the mind apart of. So ONE... Not many (nobody is going to CARE this long afterward that he put down a FAILED coup... It's just a "history fact" now, well except sasuke)

Well the ANBU are up to their USUAL standard in these... Explosions going off like mad, everyone ALREADY being on lockdown and high alert.. BUT apartment buildings FULL of civilians start POPPING like balloons and NOBODY even drops in to see what's going on, for a REALLY, REALLY long time. Authors are VERY inconsistent with ANBU... They WANT THEM to be VERY GOOD.. And known as badasses.. The problem is.. IF THEY ARE... You can't really do too much IN THE VILLAGE (which everyone seems to want to do)... So they end up looking about as competent as the police in Gotham.

Hmm, must be the "two week" mark... Time to beat naruto to the point of death. (see previous chapter review) Does get KINDA repetitive, doesn't it?

Wait...WAIT.. You have "a portrait of the Yondime Hokage" in Tsunade's office.. But NOBODY puts the connection to naruto together? *sigh*... How is an entire village... THAT dumb? In MOST stories, the portrait isn't present... Because NO author can justify characters THAT stupid.

Ok.. I can see why naruto would want team 8... It's essentially a tracking/investigation team... I can even see why he would want Negji and tenten... (mostly negji)... But team asuma and the last two of team 7 I am baffled by... I don't see how those would help. Maybe his own "border patrol" team... But those are chunin, so I dunno... But those are the people that are supposed to "spot something"... Team Asuma is a capture team (without it's strategist) and what's left of team 7 (other than being mentally deficient) is a "demolition team"... So neither is exactly "helpful" on finding an opponent, while IN the village. *as in, MINIMAL destruction and disruption*.

"For a moment he even considered it to be fate"... Yeah, I GUESS you could have him think that... OR.. It could be considered a "meddling old monkey"... Remember Naruto was promoted and put on THAT SPECIFIC team by the third... Who WANTED him trained to be a hokage... He would have KNOWN who to put Naruto around to round out a personality... (especially after botching it so HORRIFICALLY bad with team 7).. Team 7 is almost COMICALLY a "bad idea"... The third wanted to "recreate the sannin" and then people WONDER WHY the uchiha went bad... DUUUUUUH they "recreated the sannin"... Kinda OBVIOUS isn't it? It's like trying to "recreate a painting" and then getting upset when you do recreate it! I have no sympathy... Like most problems for the village, they bring it down on themselves.

Active in that way? WHEN HAS HE HAD TIME? I mean seriously, other then maybe a few MINUTES a week... He hasn't had time for any of that kinda stuff. It seems that MOST of the ninja of konoha have BUCKETS of "free time" to goof off (and they DO goof off CONSTANTLY) but naruto and anyone around him are usually jumping ALL day, EVERY day. Other then the graduating class, you don't see the ADULTS doing very much of ANYTHING, EVER, EXCEPT goofing off and pursuing their social lives!

Nope, Tsunade isn't the first female kage, that would be Mei.. The civil war ended there and she became the kage about the time of the Konoha Crush... So that's been over for a minute now.

KINDNESS manifested in the second hokage? Um, I dunno how to tell you this, but you might have gotten your sources crossed.. The second hated the Uchiha with a passion... He was also the guy that made the Rajin sword AND made the Edo Tensai jutsu... Which is PRETTY damn DARK... He was also the one that MADE the flying thunder god jutsu... ALL the records say he was pretty much just a "kill, kill, kill" type of guy... Maybe not a BAD guy, but shall we say "morally grey"? That Edo jutsu ALONE should be enough to tell ya that... No, not such a great guy... That thing has no use, EXCEPT as an "evil necromancer" plot device. As far as Danzo? I've always thought of him as a sad, pitiable old man... He's got the EXACT SAME dream as Konohamaru for crying out loud... A 60 year old man SHOULD NOT have the same dream as a six year old! If he's been passed over and denied it THAT LONG? GROW UP and MOVE ON. Like I said, I don't find him EVIL or DARK, just kinda pathetic really. He shows a certain LACK of mentally maturity. (and a shallowness of character/emotional range)... Neither a good trait for a "leader".

With naruto in the beginning, it could probably be said.. "he has an immortal, invincible creature in him that speeds up his healing, along with a regenerating bloodline... He'll be fine... He routinely gets beaten to the point of death, every two weeks or so... Pay no attention".

As far as kabuto?.. Tsunade's main hit to his face, should have popped his head off like a Rock em' Sock em' robot... So, not sure how that works.. Personally, I would have the characters just scalp him and then begin tearing his BRAINS OUT... Kinda tough to work jutsu when there IS NO CHAKRA in the corpse anymore. But then again, I hate kabuto.. Any villain that keeps coming back quickly? Overstays their welcome. He works as a "guerrilla warfare" style fighter.. Hit once and then RUN FOR THE HILLS... Him trying over and over just doesn't work.

It's kinda funny with the slug summons saying.. "did you say Nawaki"?.. Because SHE DIDN'T. (you can look up one paragraph and READ THAT SHE DIDN'T. ) ROFL.

With Orochimaru, I'm a little confused... Orochi got his ass HANDED to him by Itachi... So Itachi IS stronger/more powerful then orochi... Itachi is scared of and would lose to Pein... So Pein is stronger/more powerful then Itachi... Jiraiya can go toe-to-toe with Pein while he's in sage mode... Ergo, by transitive property Jiraiya is FAR stronger then orochi in sage mode...

You know, when people get set on fire with OIL and flames OR, like here, are engulfed in a HUGE EXPLOSION of ripping/tearing chakra that then goes BOOM... It makes it very difficult to think the "bad guys shook it off"... That really doesn't work, because, if HIGH EXPLOSIVES or "melting" half the character doesn't kill them? How in the heck is a KUNAI knife supposed to? Blow them up, to complete ASH?.. Nope, they can "walk it off" and be fine... Slit a throat with a kunai? DEAD... See how that kinda makes no sense? It's kinda like the substitution jutsu.. If you think about it.. That one jutsu means there is NO ninja battle that would EVER end. It would be POINTLESS to fight each other.
