I can never understand how when people write these types of fix-it fics they all have Amelia oblivious to all that's happened. Amelia is the Head of the DMLE yet she is oblivious to everything? She is Susan's guardian and yet Susan never thought to tell her about the "most painful death" corridor, students getting petrified, dementors at Hogwarts and Harry being in the Triwizard tournament? Students were literally fearing for their lives in 2nd year. Susan would 100% have told Amelia. She definitely has at least a portion of the blame considering it is her job to know these things. There is no way she couldn't have known.

This could of happened in book 6 if Scrimagour was smart enough to lock down the MoM and do a thourgh house cleaning of the place with arm inspections and Veritaseriun questioning. He could have even asked for some help from another country.
