skag trendy chapter 1 . 7/3/2011 This is a beautiful piece of work, hon. Really first class. Sam's dream on the beach was particularly heart breaking, but I cried right along with him after he woke up in hospital. On the surface of it, in season 1 after Jess died, Sam might have come across as selfish, driven by revenge for her death, putting his grief first before helping others in need. But can any of us really blame him for that? Would I, after having lost the love of my life, have been any different? Sometimes, its only the grief and anger of loss that keeps us going. Though, in Sam's case, he also had Dean to watch out for him. And what a remarkable big brother he is. Dean did his best to take care of Sam but, unfortunately, without a medical degree, appendicitis is a difficult one to treat, especially when little brother isn't talking! LOL! Good to see that Dean carries that ever-loving Winchester guilt complex as easily as Sam does. Speaking of... loved your characterisation of both the boys in this; it's perfect. Thanks so much for sharing this with us, hon. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Kind regards, ST xxx |
CeCe Away chapter 1 . 7/2/2011 Awwwww. Really nice. This has both stubborn won't back down Dean and awesome sweet Dean all in one. Great one-shot. |
sammygirl1963 chapter 1 . 7/2/2011 What an awesome story. I just knew there was something else wrong with Sammy other than the stress of having lost Jessica, |
ziggy.uk chapter 1 . 7/2/2011 Great fic, love ones set during the time of Season 1, and this was no exception. Always felt the show somehow glossed over Sam's grief at the death of Jessica, but guess they had other things they wanted to concentrate on. Perfect that Sam's grief caused him to ignore the fact there really was something physical wrong with him with appendicitis, until the pain was too bad for him to ignore. And very believable that Sam finally broke down after he came round from the surgery, his defences weakened and Dean's words breaking through the barriers he had put up. A really great read. |
