| BookQ36 chapter 1 . 11/8
Nice little crack-AU. The tone is a bit too modern for this show, Caesar wasn't Vorenus' hero, and Vorenus had been a Prefect in the Evocati and then a Magistrate before becoming senator, and those missteps did lessen my enjoyment of the piece, but overall it did make me smile.

Yeah, making Vorenus a co-consul is such a Caesarish thing to do.
Loved the story but Brutus was my favourite character in Rome so I didn't really like what happened to him but otherwise I loved it.

Ohhh! This made me laugh so much:
"To kill a man like Caesar through cowardly, underhanded means only guarantees his immortality throughout the ages. Your son Brutus must be one weak, confused, messed-up individual."
GREAT! I have always disliked Brutus and my fav part was this one: "and then I soiled my toga and everyone started laughing at us!"
OMG! The end is magnificent...after all his besty was Titus Pullo...hahahaha. Love it!

Most definitely a happier ending for Caesar and Vorenus. :) Thanks for sharing!

Dark humor, indeed! You made me giggle.

This was awesome! I love the idea of Vorenus becoming a Co-Consul. It's exactly the kind of political move Caesar would make given the circumstances. I felt like some of the dialogue was a little over-the-top but it's been a while since I've seen the show and if I remember right, most of the dialogue was over-the-top anyway. I really like this ending. Thanks for posting it!
