Reviews for A Harry Situation
markhp chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
Great story. I'm really enjoying it. The switching of view points in this last chapter was a nice touch. Hope you continue with this story.
Doom Song chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
YES! Wonderful chapter, as always. keep up the GREAT work!
SailorChibi chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
Never mind about it, really, I'm just a perfectionist about things like that. I liked this chapter a lot, I thought the ending was really good and surprising. I'm dying to know what that little gold sphere was! Was it put there by Voldemort or a supporter? Or did it do something good but at the same time bad? Update soon! I NEED TO KNOW!
Ozma chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
BRAVO! You've done a fantastic job with Viktor! He's real, human and very endearing. His jealousy of Harry reminds me of Ron's jealousy of him. The way you show his frustration at how hard it is to get some privacy with Hermione is very funny. I absolutely love how smitten he is with Hermione. "The glorious highlights in Hermione's hair..." "this girl was very pretty for someone who wasn't Hermione..." Oh, this poor young man has got it BAD. -grins-

I love Viktor's family too. His brother's interest in Ginny, and his friendly, talkative sisters! (I love their names too... Karen, Gretchen and Jill.) Will Ginny find out that Foma's name is a form of Thomas? I hope she won't hold that against Foma.

It's hilarious that what sounds like half of wizarding Bulgaria has come to visit the Krum family's guests. Poor Viktor.

Yay! Rupert! Hmm. (Bob repainted the living room once when I took the boys on a visit to my sister's without him because he had to work. I wonder if he did it because he was lonely? We were gone for a week.)

Yes, Harry's got friends who care. Ron's sensible and mature reactions when he KNEW that Harry was in trouble made me so proud of him. (And it was incredibly cool that he remembered and used advice from Trelawney, of all people. GO, Ron! Just because someone is annoying doesn't mean that they're always wrong.)

Rupert's trip to Dursley-land was marvelous. His description of Petunia as the "semi-tame-shrew" was perfect. Poor Harry, he really has no idea what sorts of things Dads have to put up with on a regular basis. How would he know, poor boy. He can't remember all the times he must have burped up (or worse) on James.(Aw! Every time I think of baby Harry I just melt.)

Rupert's fantasy involving dental drills forceps and no anesthetic sounds appropriate to me. I loved Rupert's remark to Petunia. He told her that she's not "decent people" without having to literally say so. Petunia is certainly clever enough to work out what he meant.

Rupert's epiphany about opossums playing dead when he set eyes on Hagrid made me howl with laughter. (Though he has seen Hagrid before... Rupert was with the Weasleys in Flourish and Blotts when Hagrid broke up the fight between Lucius and Arthur. Though there were certainly enough OTHER alarming things going on at the time, and one could argue that Hagrid doesn't look quite so LARGE when surrounded by other wizarding folk.) At any rate, I enjoyed how swiftly Rupert and Hagrid bonded.

"It's that freak that gave me a pig's tail, isn't it?"

"I wouldn't insult him, if I were you."

That exchange made me laugh.

The dangerous little gold thing that looked like a wingless snitch didn't make me laugh. What was it? I bet that's the thing that hit Harry before, isn't it?

EK!

(pant... gasp... wheeze)

Okay, you're getting a standing ovation now. BRAVO! This is among the BEST fan-written depictions of Neville, Pansy and Millicent that I have had the joy of reading. If I tried to quote my favorite bits at you I'd end up quoting the entire thing. The Slytherin vs Gryffindor banter. The way that both Neville and Millicent are different people away from school. Pansy's hesitant asking about Neville's parents. The "forget it" conversation between Neville and Millie. Pansy's STILL not having forgiven Hagrid for the Buckbeak Incident. I also love the idea of Honey Badgers!

Both Millicent and Neville acting mature and sensible in a crisis. GO, Neville! Go, Millie!

Harry's disjointed knowledge regarding what was going on around him was harrowing.I hope that he and Rupert will be all right.

The person who was murdered at St. Mungo's was Harry's own grandfather... I remember this from "Assorted Marauders." He died trying to protect his patients. I'm glad he finally has a chance to meet Harry.

Looking forward to your next chapter!
Lilia3 chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
Yeah a new post! I can't wait to see more! Good lord his grandfather haunts a hospital wing? Where do you come up with this stuff! I can barely keepmy mind wrapped around my own life much less Harry's (as much as I would like to). Please let Rupert be alright! Damn that Victor Krum! Who does he think he is? WHy would Hermione be with him when he could have cute adorable Ron? That's just my little mini-rant! Post more soon!

Temporary Insanity chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
I quite liked this chapter. But the strange illness... I suppose it's the one Harry's grandmother had. Hm. In any case, Tiberius sounds really neat. Usually Harry doesn't seem to have any grandparents at all... :)

In any case, I wonder what 'sheer luck that nobody was killed' means, and what Harry had to do with it. I suppose you'll be answering that in the next chapter.

_ I look forward to it.
Bob chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
I'm overjoyed to see Harry is finally away from the Dursleys. Even if he did land straight in the hospital. A minor point, you said Harry sent Hedwig and her cage to the Weasley's in the last chapter and he told Ginny not to worry about the cage because he was buying a new one.

I love how Petunia can get on Harry's case about sleeping on the bed when she knows full well that the bed she gave him is a piece of shit that's a good sneeze away from falling apart.

I liked how Rupert immediately took action after Harry's phone call. It's a very sad state however when a child would be better off in the care of one of his friend's parents whom he has met in person once and spoken to on the telephone twice very briefly.

And finally, Harry has gotten to meet a family member from his Father's side.
Bucky chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
I love the story, however I am still waiting on the romance parts, specially H/G. Will they be having face to face interaction in the next story?
lemon drop chapter 4 . 4/12/2003
So cute! I love the letter that Ginny wrote to Harry, and how you put all of her thoughts into it too! Qwidditch Qwunchies, I laughed when I saw that! I really like this story so far, I really like your style and the plot. I've got to get back to reading, so I'll review again later!
taself chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
Yet another great chapter. Rupert's a character that keeps getting better, cool. Hermione and co. made it to Bulgaria, safely this is good, but as Ron would proberly say "Krum's a git!", :)

The BIG question is where did the golden sphere come from?

AND whats Harry's grandfathers ghost like? cool idea that. More please!
lan1 chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
You are evil you used another cliff... Now serious your fic is great, it is a shame that it wont have a sequel at hogwarts, but at least you did a very good job in his vacations...
Angel of the North chapter 16 . 4/12/2003
Another good chapter.

I love the characterisation of Rupert - can he have his own story some time?
neillsdottir chapter 5 . 4/11/2003
Well done. I like your story, it's very well written. Also, the chapters are long (which is a good thing). How old were you when you bumped your head on the table? Yes, too bad you didn't get your scar. I got stitches in my head, too. See, I was at a park with gravel as the ground, and I slipped on the slide, and cut my head open. Although, I am proud to say, I WAS left with a lightening bolt scar! No joke! It's not as noticeable as Harry's though. Oh well, I'll take what I can get. Keep up the good work! I checked this story first on Gryffindor Tower and there were only four chapters. So, I searched your name here, and you have more up! Well, I'm going to keep reading now, so keep up the good work!
Squintz1 chapter 15 . 4/11/2003
Hey!

I LOVE this fic so much! I love the way you portray the characters and give them all a little more depth. I love Sirius and Harry's relationship. I love Hermione's parents. I love Ron and Ginny's relationship. I could go on for hours but I won't bore you. It's too bad you're triskaidekaphobic, though, because thirteen is my favorite number...oh well! Anyway, you're the first person I've put on my favorites list so feel special! TTfn and ttyl!

rosemary thyme chapter 15 . 4/10/2003
I love it! One of my favorite fics- you are doing a really good job on characterization, and seem to have found just the right balence between humor and seriousness. Keep up the good wor!

"Please, mum, I'd like some more!"
