| Eiladwyn chapter 1 . 12/13/2013
I like how you explored the way a moral line is blurred. We the readers are pulled back and shown our own potential culpability along with John. Thank you!
| Doni chapter 1 . 7/30/2013
Well handled. Not an easy topic and not an easy act to forgive. In the US we are now facing the backlash of some people finally realizing our own government has been doing the same thing in the name of public safety. You can argue either way, but you can't deny the slippery slope it represents.

| Rhyolight04 chapter 1 . 6/4/2012
We're not getting the exhaustive coverage of this in the US that you're getting, but it sounds really demoralizingly awful. Far-reaching. I know what it's like to be disappointed in one's country. I also know what it's like to have your characters want to discuss it, and I am glad you wrote this. And Sherlock probably wouldn't give a damn, so it's good John and Mycroft had one another.

I really like this :) It's so good, and your characters are excellent. I like that Mycroft and John had a proper conversation to start with...and not one where Mycroft is simply trying to intimidate him, much as I like those :D
Also, Sherlock's surly little interjections were perfect too, though not overpowering to the main plotline. Really nicely done...at least something good came out of the whole hacking scandal. :) x

The things we justify for ourselves.
| CountryGrl chapter 1 . 7/10/2011
I love this. It's perfectly in character and funny in places but in the end it's quite a serious commentary on all that's gone on. Fabulous.
| Evenmoor chapter 1 . 7/10/2011
An interesting and believable take on a scandal that incensed a good many people! No doubt those directly involved justified it somehow, too. Also, you craft a strong, honest friendship between John and Mycroft, one that is a no doubt unique relationship for the both of them. Good job on this fic.
| HOS70 chapter 1 . 7/10/2011
I love it that you took this current news story and crafted such an excellent tale from it.
I had to laugh so hard at the image of Mycroft waiting in the darkened living room for almost an hour whilst Sherlock is getting on with his day as if Mycroft’s not there, and of course John’s deadpan reaction to finding that out. Then, John taking care of Mycroft as naturally as he does with his brother.
How clever of Mycroft to draw John on Sherlock’s violation of other people’s privacy, and John’s passing on of the information gained by way of his blog. Double standards, how are you.
How brilliant was the biscuit scene involving David Cameron? John must be amazed at the kind of conversations he has with the brothers Holmes. Actually, I truly like John’s relationship with Mycroft in this story. The way he gives out to him and curses him one minute, and enquires about his health in the next. This implies a real solid friendship between the two, in which the bad can be said as honestly as the good without destroying the underlying respect. No wonder Sherlock is in a bitchy mood.

I like it! I certainly like the mix of views you've got in here!
And well done for getting it up so fast!
