douchiesnacks chapter 4 . 7/14/2011 short but still a good chapter. |
Guest chapter 1 . 7/13/2011 Make the alliance policy to nuke all batarian worlds they come across once they eventually start to fight back |
Binary chapter 3 . 7/13/2011 I think you have done a really good job of demonstrating how life would have been in that era. I found it weird how humanity was able to advance so quickly when other species took millenia, so I'm glad you chose to represent it in a realistic way.I think the humans should begin research into tech that doesnt involve element zero, such as things from halo or star wars, and maybe the alliance could discover another race, like the elites or a race from Warhammer. |
dwizzle chapter 3 . 7/13/2011 Great fic. I can't wait to see where this goes. |
douchiesnacks chapter 3 . 7/13/2011 Good chapter. I hope in the future batarians get exterminated |
SpiritOfSherwood chapter 1 . 7/12/2011 Also the whole reason that Humans are a great military power in the Mass Effect universe is because Humans think outside the box with things like tactics and Carriers. We challenge the millennia old preconceptions of aloof species like the Turians and Asari with new ideas that they haven't thought of. |
SpiritOfSherwood chapter 2 . 7/12/2011 Man you really took "In the Grim Darkness of the far future there is only War" to heart on this one. |
douchiesnacks chapter 2 . 7/12/2011 interesting fic, cant wait for more. |
Mr Stereo1 chapter 2 . 7/12/2011 The narrative continues, and although it might be a little premature to say, seems to be maturing well. The speed of reverse engineering often portrayed in fiction is optimistic at the best of times, and I have to agree with your assessment of the Mass Effect background. It's a great game series, and a good universe, but the Humans Are Special message is overdone. One quibble though, you mention 'The First Batarian Flu Pandemic' as humanity's first trans-species disease... most deseases in our history have mutated from ailments of other species, small-pox for example. It would be the first extra-terrestrial disease, or the first trans-sapient disease, but not the first trans-species disease. Not a major point, but one worth making. |
lsq78 chapter 2 . 7/12/2011 That's a nice and original take on an AU that seems very interesting so far. Just a question though, those clones that you talk about are fully sentient or are they more comparable to the Replicas from F.E.A.R.? |
luk3us chapter 2 . 7/12/2011 Yes the supposed 'leap' in technology is hard to swallow, even though the Citadel races had stagnated along time ago, its still difficult. I suppose its fortunate in some ways it wasn't the Turians who arrived, as they'd of just straight out conquered all Terran worlds. Whilst the Batarians are just slaving bastards. :P Its always nice to see Humanity on the back foot, even if it does lead to the cliché redemption... But meh, its not the destination but the journey that matters. |
Mr Stereo1 chapter 1 . 7/12/2011 Death to the enemies of man? Works for me, it's a fresh feeling take on the universe. I hope the chapters will be longer than the prologue though. |
Inverness chapter 1 . 7/11/2011 Oh, this isn't a take I've considered before. I'm looking forward to it. |
