You spelled SEVERUS"S name wrong!
| Random number generator chapter 1 . 6/24/2013
Severous? It is Severus.
| Nixieneo chapter 1 . 6/20/2013
Well. That was a bit too dark for my personal tastes (surely there's nothing wrong with naïvely wishing for happy endings and ever-afters?), but excellently written nonetheless. Revenge is a dish truly best served cold.
PS. is that a typo in the title?

wow, dark and dreary and totally real to life. I think you had Tom and Severus nailed in this one.

Dude. I am creepily hungry for stories that go the other way, stories where Voldemort doesn't respect Lily's choice to sacrifice herself for her son. And this one is beautifully creepy and true to character. God, I want to see it longer. Will you make it longer? I'll give you a cookie...

OMG! This is one of my favorite mini love story ever!
You should write original books, you are so good!
| Darth Marrs chapter 1 . 11/3/2011
A pub tale like no others. Concise and true to the heart of the characters.
| Ladii Emelia chapter 1 . 8/20/2011
Not what I was expecting, but still an interesting read.

Excellent in its awfulness - the ultimate rebuttal to everyone who thinks that Snape's selfish obsession with Lily somehow qualified as 'true love'.
This story nails two key points that so often get overlooked or brushed aside:
1: Whe he realised the Potters were targets Snape's first response was bargaining for Lily's life. It was only after he saw that he couldn't negotiate his way to a world where Lily lived and her husband and son didn't that he defected to Dumbledore.
2: If he had been successful, what would Lily have thought of the man who alowed her husband and son to die? And what would muggleborn, order member Lily's life have been like in a world where Voldemort was either still alive or triumphant? Voldemort was hardly like to accept her parole, was he?
True love is unconditional. Snape wanted Lily on his own controlling terms. I can easily see this happening if Snape had gotten his wish.

Thank you! First, this was a horrific and sad ending for Lily, but for all those Snape/Lily shippers out there, the only ending that'd really come up if she had ever learned the truth about his devil's bargain with Tom. For me, and all the folk who say that he was in true love with her, it makes no sense whatsoever, that he was willing to bargain for her life, but that blasted whelp and James Potter could go hang for all he care. Really? That's supposed to be love? For me, it shows that he was and will always have been a creepy stalker who just basically clung to Lily until he was moved by the Death Eater's and their talk, and for me, makes him seem like someone who was a jerk and not really a friend at all to Lily, so again, glad to see him get his bad ending, just sad that Lily had to get one as well.
